:D:D:DTROLL ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Sangvin, you fell for it. This guy is another forum member hiding under another name cuz he has no cojones to stand on his own. Mods can see IP's and could easily find what other names post under his IP. I hope they will.
You may well be right but it's not safe to assume. Many people use the practice of posting under a pseudonym to avoid what our American friends amusingly call a “Dogfart” - when an group of aggrieved established members band together and create a stink when a dissenter says something with which they disagree. The IP thing can really only take the lowest hanging fruit. In this day and age we even teach kids how to use proxies, VPN, modify headers and whatnot. And several judges have thrown out cases on the strength that it is abundantly clear that an IP address in no way definitively fingers a target individual................Just sayin'. :)

Well, lets see kissmyvag has the following:

1. Joined now
2. First post on this thread
3. Uses first post to talk crap about a company

You can spray cologne on a turd, but it's still a turd

Oh, I'm not saying you're wrong. At first glance I'd tentatively flag that up as a provisional “you're right”, and elsewhere I could find some splendid sport in uncovering the actuality of it. All I'm saying is that the IP alone is insufficient to disclose anyone with even modest skills. And although what you write above could well be a good explanation equally so could; he/she has never felt sufficiently strongly about anything else to post, and has hitherto spent time learning. And it was only now under these circumstances...blah. It would be remiss of us to deliberately blind ourselves to that regardless of what our gut hunch of the probability is.

Back to the topic at hand, worth.

Now just like a lot of knife companies Busse has a wide range of products. Everything from a sub 100.00 skeleton handled knife, to a 2000.00 monster. Each sub business has its own pricing structure, Scrap Yard competes in the under 200.00 price/performance ratio and Swamp Rat is a middle road price.

As far as the "one knife" principal goes, Swamp Rat offers a good range right now, as does Scrap Yard. iirc Busse does have two offerings right now, the Team Gemini and the Argon Assault. Mind you the AA does not have many real world uses, at all. :p

But, there's a lot of people who see those fancy 5000.00 art knives as worth it. Its alll subjective.

I don't have one, if I had the money I'd buy them all to see what the fuss is about.

The Horn Dog thread in the skills section is quite interesting if your skint like me!
It illustrates well what 42Blades and others say about cost performance.

I would still love an FBM-LE though, just because.

I've got one of those, I think in your case you would like it better.
The blade is fantastic, not *that* much bigger and the mag grips are the same as on the HOGFSH.

I get the impression that a lot of people like to own them, in multiples even, but not many actually use them? :)

Actually, I doubt that there is another brand of knives that is abused more than busse knives. if you actually read through the busse forum you will realize that the last part of your comment is far from reality and the first part is spot on.:D

lol @ "a lot" and "not many," where did you come up with those numbers? :p

I think it's both actually, something like Randalls, I think.
There are people that collect and people that use, I do a bit of both.

Thing is, like most people, I only need to use a few knives,
the rest are part and parcel of what I am doing kicking around on a knife forum website.

I'm actually here for the knives.

"Lot" and "not many" were derived at using a scientific analysis of.... well ok then. :) I suppose there are some people who own a few unused knives that they don't intend to use, even multiples of the same knives, just for the pleasure of owning them.

By the way, I am just here for the social contact with like minded knife knuts.

codger, nice collection. I have many users and several that are keepers for just lookin at. ;)

Nice Collection Codger! One of my favorite patterns from Schrade.

"Just for the pleasure of owning them" Quote of the year! It very honestly describes every knife collector, users or not.

But, the Busse forum is full of pics of people using the heck out of their knives, but most do take a pretty picture before the carnage. :p

I stand behind what I said no mater what the guy is ! Well but I see now that he is chicken!

Not chicken, fish food. :p Returning troll.

This summer, I was able to trade into three Hand made knives with prices ranging from $265 to $400. 2 of them get used frequently around the house and the third sees plenty of use out in the field. If I had been able to trade into a Busse that I like, I probably would have.

Will my $100 Khukri do what my $400 Fiddleback Camp knife do? Yes, does that mean that I feel bad because I spent 4 times more on a knife for the same uses, Heck No! I like both, use both and enjoy both. It's all good to me. If the design appeals to you, buy it. If after using it, you don't like it, trade or sell it to someone who it will work for. This applies to gear as well as knives. Use it and have fun, thats the important thing.

Hm...I cant justify 500 for a knife. I have too many. I know the busses can chop thru roots, cinder blocks, etc....but I will at no cost ever do that with any blade I have! EVER! Because you can doesnt me you should or ever will. As for ESEE...yeah it is a common steel but the heat treating is where the magic happens. They make a knife that will do everything you can pretty much do with a busse and if you break it...they will give you a new one and the knives are nearly 3x cheaper! I like busse because they are limited releases and rare. I could careless about the abuse they can take for I would once again never put a knife thru that kind of beating. End of the world you would be stupid to put your blade thru what noss does at knifetest. I do like noss and respect what he does but it is not realistic! In a survival situation being smart is gonna keep you alive and used your knife for something you shouldnt is stupid. Just my 2 cents and once again I am a very big fan but I wouldnt spend the money on one. My falks, ESEE, and Beckers have taken on more than I have asked of them and they are all I need!

i was thinking of one but i dont think i put my knife through thing un realistic things so... best bet go with esee if u break it they give you a new one..but busse is nice and i may get maybe 1 or 2

"If you break it they will give you a new one". Why would you do that? I can see how a person with little or no skills with a knife might by using a knife improperly, but aren't most of us fairly skilled with the use of knives in ordinary knife tasks?
