I'm not a regular poster to the Busse forum... I'm more of a folder guy.
I was brought here by the Pikal designation in the thread title.
Just received a P'kal folder from Spyderco last week, and I have to say it is, undoubtedly, one of the finest purpose-built folders I have ever had the pleasure to lay my paws on.
If your draw is right, the knife is as quick as lightning... Technique is what slows you down when you're playing with one of these, it sure is not the design. The wave on this knife is the best I have used on any knife.
The knife locks in pikal grip as naturally as any knife I have ever held, which says alot for a folder I suppose, and the points lines up perfectly for pikal strikes. Texture of the G10 is, as typical on the Golden Spyderco models, impecable.
The lock is as trick as I have seen, and is solid as a rock. I do not see anybody handling one talking about not trusting the lock. It's the second gen. ball bearing lock which has been proven on the Yojimbo amoungst others, and is much easier to operate in the cage it now resides in.
Flat ground S30V does not leave much to be desired as far as a folder blade.
Truly, it's everything I wished it would be when I first heard about the concept and more. I urge anybody doubting the design or construction to handle one at once.
And be prepared to be astounded.
