Busse Pikal

Can ya imagine a collaboration between Rinaldi and Busse?

Aw dagnabbit! I just ruined another keyboard!!! Darn droool! :o

Im also noticing alot of knives being touted as Pikal knives now, and like I said just a few years ago they were openly laughed at..

If it makes you feel any better, I've only bought the Spyderco's P'kal folders based on your Disciple fixed blade.

If it makes you feel worse, it wasn't my intention.

BRING IT! I would buy at least a couple!

Wasn't the P'Kal basically a folding version of the Disciple because it was a Spyderco and SouthNarc/Shivworks collaboration? I know for certain that Spyderco got a lot of design input from SouthNarc.

You are correct.. Shivworks is a partnership between Southnarc and myself.
I design knives based off his methods. Snarc says I have a way of getting inside his head and making what he needs into a knife or words to that effect..;-) We both had alot to do with the design and refinment of the Spyderco tool with Sal & Co. it took a while to happen but we eventually got it right.

Cool! That is what I thought.

You are one of the select few who like a reverse grip. Then again, I am broke as a joke so maybe it would be good for Jerry to release a knife I don't want. :D

I actually like reverse grip as well though prefer standard grip. I find I like holding the kbits standard as well. Just a preference I guess.

That collaboration w/Spyderco was WAY more Trace than me. I'm strictly software.

Thanks for clearing that up. I am sure that your input was also quite important.
Wow, even SouthNarc is now on board here  Get Ray Floro on here and it would be a Full House :D

So what do you say BossHOG???? Will we be seeing a Busse Pikal ???:cool: Pretty Please!

I'm not a regular poster to the Busse forum... I'm more of a folder guy.

I was brought here by the Pikal designation in the thread title.

Just received a P'kal folder from Spyderco last week, and I have to say it is, undoubtedly, one of the finest purpose-built folders I have ever had the pleasure to lay my paws on.

If your draw is right, the knife is as quick as lightning... Technique is what slows you down when you're playing with one of these, it sure is not the design. The wave on this knife is the best I have used on any knife.

The knife locks in pikal grip as naturally as any knife I have ever held, which says alot for a folder I suppose, and the points lines up perfectly for pikal strikes. Texture of the G10 is, as typical on the Golden Spyderco models, impecable.

The lock is as trick as I have seen, and is solid as a rock. I do not see anybody handling one talking about not trusting the lock. It's the second gen. ball bearing lock which has been proven on the Yojimbo amoungst others, and is much easier to operate in the cage it now resides in.

Flat ground S30V does not leave much to be desired as far as a folder blade.

Truly, it's everything I wished it would be when I first heard about the concept and more. I urge anybody doubting the design or construction to handle one at once.

And be prepared to be astounded.

I'd get one for sure. Especially if Trace and SouthNarc would be behind it. Hell, I'd buy couple of them :D

and it has a version of emerson's wave too, correct?

very cool to have all those guys collaborating on one knife!

Correct sir.. Through an agreement with Sal and Ernie we were able to make this folder wave open which is something we REALLY wanted it to be able to do..

someday... SOMEDAY... I'll get my extra thin choiless badger attack, and it will be my go to for anything even remotely self defense knife related. i have no idea what pikal is, but my brothers style is sorta along those lines in mentality, being that if you can't attack the brain or the heart with it, your playing with fire. (sounds bad, but if you've pulled your knife, then your life had better be on the line.)

I foresee that the knife I ordered will win out over any sd knife i've ever seen, anywhere, in any style. even the fairbain sykes, mostly because my blade will have way better cutting geometry when not used for stabbing.

and with this design you get the absolute best of both worlds :p
