Busses and Whisky

Dude, I just had the best laugh all day LOL! Nice Bowie clip ~ Damn if you aren't spot on! LOL! But it's also extra funny because I'm half shitfaced. Just got back from a tasting at a neighbor's down the road, actually within the security lights of "The Compound" I was that close. I took the Signet and Glen 14 over to a buds and I got to sample one of his Christmas presents in the form of a "Little Bookers" holy cow was that some high horsepower squeeze!

Hey! Grats on the the Tamdhu Batch!!! I killed my bottle of it, another of Cobalt's rec's for the sherry cask lovers- I put this one at the high end of the sherry bomb spectrum- want to know what sherry cask is? This is your benchmark to rate all others against and Dennis affirmed my suspicions.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I see you are on the trail of Signet - Here's my advice- wait until you aren't sick. I am seriously plugged up taking sudafed last couple days - Whip out the cheap crap because it's going to be a waste. Can't smell or taste crap ATM. My bud and I cleansed thoroughly before trying the Signet a little bit ago- Yeah, he was into it, loved it. For me it was kind of a waste from being plugged....So, that almost full bottle of Bulleit Rye is getting a workout- I think being not able to taste right actually makes it a little better than normal :D

Got the Skrewball.

Hmmm...
Smells like candy.
Tastes kind of like candy too.

Maybe add something a bit chocolatey?

How about a bit of Tempus Fugit Crème de Cacao?

Good, but not Reese's. And not quite right. But not sorry.

Maybe Mozart Chocolate Cream liqueur?

That's what we're looking for. Still not Reese's, but the Mozart has a more chocolatey flavor, the cream gives it just the right mouthfeel.

I'll bet Bailey's with the Crème de Cacao would work too. Or just a bit of heavy cream. And maybe some Crème de Menthe. But then we'd just have a Peanut Butter Grasshopper, and I don't think a Grasshopper can be improved upon (at least not with peanut butter)..

I think drinking enough of this to get drunk would cause the worst hangover ever. I'm getting a headache just thinking about it.
So I decided to try this - Picked up a bottle of Godiva Chocolate~ I mixed me one up but I'm afraid I've been converted by drinking all this stuff neat all year long- To me? it was like drinking a liquor milkshake with half a pound of sugar in it- I poured it down the drain~ can't do it. I also picked up some aromatic bitters since I had some cherries in the fridge and whipped me up an old fashioned with the Whistle Pig ~ Damn, I'm doing it but again, rather have the pig in a glass, just him and me. Never in my life did I ever imagine to be in this place where I can enjoy a straight spirit as much as I've learned to do thanks to all the great experience shared here.

Managed to pick up a Springbank 15 and my 19yr Bowmore while in Scotland last week. Had a taste of the Balvenie Tun 1509 I believe and I was surprised at how bitter the finish was. I would have been disappointed if I spent that much on a bottle of it.

Macallan Estate was very light and fruity, almost floaty. It was very smooth but without a lot of substance.

My friend gave me a bottle of the Offerman edition. It's got an interesting taste profile, it seems to change every time I take a sip. I think I prefer the 16, but I need to try the Offerman again when I don't have a sinus infection.

Sounds like a good trip! I hope to go there some day. I don't know if it's my 1/8 Scottish genes or the whisky that's calling me.

Mate, how things with you and the fires. Just seen what was happening in Mallacoota. Know someone who's mum could not leave and has had to stay in Gippsland, fires very close and he is extremely worried as expected. Hope your safe and okay.

It's like this right now

But it's much worse down the coast. There are fires everywhere here. My friends had their farm wiped out last night, "Not a stick left", but at least they saved all their stock (they think).

Yeah you too mate. Everyone's having a pretty terribly NYE around here tonight that's for sure. A lot of people are spending the night at evacuation centres. Others have lost their homes. Hope 2020 brings something better !!

I may have broke off more than I should have but this guy buys all this locally at retail prices so it was mostly free for all on all but a couple bottles..... Oh. And @Cobalt / Dennis.....mail one of those Behikes this way Brother!!!!

Went to a Christmas party the other day. I think a piece of heaven fell and landed in this fellas man cave.

The bottle of poor man's pappy gave me a chuckle. Three of those bottles gave me the drools - Little Book ch1, Bookers 30 and the EH Taylor Four Grain (this is another bottle that has become super inflated $$$ on the secondary market, but IMO this one has earned it by taste, not just name recognition).

Great collection for sure!

Leonardo,

I want you to follow these instructions to the letter.

I want you to put all of those bottles in a box and stand out at the end of your driveway. Garth and Squatch will be by in a few to black bag you and get your "Box O' Booze" to my office.

Once we've emptied all of the bottles we will return you to your driveway. It should only take about an hour. . . Garth is concerned that you might get too cold. . . . I suppose we could leave the truck running . . . . . but I'm not sure that it has a heated bed!!!  o_O

See you in a few!!!

Let's Drink!!!

Jerry :D
