Butterfly Brigade... FALL IN!! (BM Enthusiast Group open application thread)

Well, since my friend JNewell got to # 710 before I could. :(
I guess I'll request # 552.
Thanks

23 pts?

Just asking but why a certain number of posts requirements? Heck, there are some guys here that only have a dozen or so posts and have been members of Blade Forums for years. We just had a guy the other day post here in the Benchmade sub-forum that had joined in 2009 and only had 3 posts.

Isn't it enough that you own a Benchmade knife and post in the Benchmade sub-forum?

I'll take #149 if it's open.

I've got a BM Rift, Ritter Grip, Nimravus, HK 14650, Steirer-Eisen Monochrome (owned 2, but one was stolen). Also owned a 530, but ended up selling it.

I reserved #03
I also have a ritter grip on the way from a trade from "TheMelonPopper" here.
When I get my tax return (maybe even sooner I'm getting more excited the more I think about it) I will have a custom full size grip. I will show pics when I acquire them. I promise :D
So that's at least 1 point, I don't know where the ritter mini grip falls into, to be honest. :foot:
Also this makes post number 12 here so Im sure I will have 14 in the next 2 weeks, seeing as this is only the third day since the birth of Benchmade sub-forum I believe.

I'd say you're good to go Swoop. I can't imagine anyone cutting you out - especially, the Benchmade host. Ya gotta Benchmade - Ritter Grip and you're golden.

I gotta white custom 550 now too...I couldn't wait so I just finished up the order...It was killing me to not buy it. I've been wanting one for so long and now that I'm getting my first tax return I figured that there is no better way to spend a small portion of it on a Benchmade :D

Can I have number 8 ?

46, 47, 51 (modded to Bowie), 42, 31 preproduction (432), 32,45s, 63, 710 (M2),
520 (M4 #150), Emerson CQC7, 943, 940, 426, 425, 930, Elishewitz auto, 705,
Leopard cub, 15020, 806, 810, 860, 630, 275, 916, 375, nimravus.

I did not list the H and K's and I might have one or two hiding :)

Butterfly Brigade? Sounds kind of frou-frou, but whatever. ;) I don't have 50 posts or 14 posts in this subforum (seeing how new it is), but I've been a member of Benchmade's corporate forum since 2000, so I think I qualify as a dedicated fan. I'll take #812, please.

I currently own:
520 Presidio LE in CPM-M4
556
581
812s-LH
950

Used to own
910-LH pre-production 1998
555
555HG
950-1201 Forum Knife
Vex
14650 P30 H&K liner lock
710sbt in ATS-34 (purchased in 1999)
probably a couple others I've forgotten

7pts., and only because automatics and balisongs are illegal in my state...

I would love to get the details of the second from the top on the left, thanks.

That makes sense to me. It's kind of tough to have post requirement when the subforum is less than a week old and you're already inducting members.

In SpyderNation, FCM415 made an exception for people like him. Its similar to this. If you're a member of bladeforums and have been for several years then you would be exempt of the post requirement. He took into consideration the people that truely love knives but don't have time or don't care to spend a whole lot of time on the computer. Read my sig ;) "Rules are rules, there are always exceptions to rules, and there is no exception to that rule"

Swoop,

Don't worry too much about it, I'm sure you'll be welcome regardless of whatever is worked out as far as joining the group.

And I agree, I'm not all that crazy about the name. I think we can do better guys?

Second from the top is a 707-702 S30V blade. Handle is a blueish gray, and a wood insert. Blade is just marked Limited Edition
Not pictured is it's brother, the 707-701. S30V Blade, Handle is again blueish gray, but has a Carbon Fiber insert. Blade is marked XXX of 500

My .02¢ after reading all the replies and remarks today is that maybe we ought to put this idea on hold for a couple/three months and give this sub-forum a chance to take hold. Afterall, we've been wanting and waiting for this sub-forum for a long time. No need to bog down Benchmade Admin with another task until things even out. Besides, there's too many rules. Rules 3, 4, and 5 are enough with 6 being understood.

Benchmade Brigade?

:thumbup::thumbup:

Works for me on both counts.

And as far as membership. I'm not for excluding people that want to partake. I get that a lot of the requirements are designed so that most would meet them anyway and to show a little pride (Like pics of collections and such). I really enjoy seeing them too.

That's fine with me but when it come down to it lets not be excluding anybody here. I want to be part of the fun, inclusive group.

I'm sure most would agree.

So...No club for now then? I agree that this was a little early. Modoc ED, you should take part in overseeing this project since you have the strongest opinions so far. Someone needs to take action, and you seem to care enough.

I knew that someone was gonna eventually try to start a BM club, but I didn't think it was gonna be this soon. It is wise to ask for the rep's permission to see if its ok before it moves forward. Kai and Spyderco's groups have their mods "".

Not a big fan of the name.

Membership Requirements are just part of the fun. Working towards something brings a lil extra enjoyment in the process. After all, its either you like BM's or not anyway. Take out requirements and its like...Ok, I was the same BM enthusiast I was before I joined, Blah whatever. Many see it that way and it can still be an inclusive group. It doesn't even seem strict at all. I don't care either way though.[ Fine no rules LOL. Welcome to the BM subforum, no point for a club, just say Benchmade collector on your Sig.] Requirements kind of weed out who is a little more serious about being in the group, which really helps whoever will be charged with "moderating" it.

Remember guys, if you want to build a "group" you can do so here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/group.php This may be what some of you want. since you want no rules no requirements.
