I buy knives and other things off the bay and off Amazon. On the bay I look for trusted sellers and folks I've bought from before. Just picked up a beautiful Galligher knife with elk stag handles and hand finished scroll work on the guard for a very good price. Gorgeous knife to be sure and have it on my belt right now. L6 tool/sawmill blade steel and impeccably crafted. I sell on there too but I back up what I sell and don't sell junk. Truth be told I don't have much luck selling on here but I do buy from makers here and forum members. As for the fee's I build them in when I list an item, if no one bids on it so be it. thanks

PS I don't usually buy folders off the bay just maker made fixed blades, and I do research the maker before hand as much as possible.

Been selling on Ebay since 1999 and have met great people, both buyers and sellers as well - been screwed over ONCE. As previously stated, as a seller, it can suck with returns as then it's back on you. The buyer can make up any story to return the item and your goods have been potentially fondled and whatnot. And fees are damn near 10% after all is said and done. But... there's some cool stuff to be had and that's the price you pay.

I try to stay with distributors when buying high end knifes, that's not to say I haven't used eBay for selling a bunch of things in the past and never had a problem, but I would say one has to use there mind and do there home work and read about the sellers decryption of there product before you buy! its kept me safe for the past ten years.

I have bought on eBay. It was for sure an easy way for stores to sell before eCommerce software became ubiquitous.

No there are so many better channels for new stuff or even used there's no attraction for me.

Way more effort then the exchange, but yes, met great people on the bay. Last seller provided requested extra pics and original sales receipt before I bid. Knife guy like us understood clone problem. With direct from phone to email or bay messaging, communications is key and now easier.
