C36GTIP First Look - Military, CPM-M4, Ti/G10!

I don't know if anyone else has noticed yet but the replaceable lock bar plate also serves as a over extension stop. A little tab sticks out that hits the ti scale so that the lock bar can't be pushed over too much. Very well done.

I hadn't, until you mentioned that. :) I think that's an extremely clever, low-profile way to implement over-travel protection. Less do-dads attached to the exterior of the knife, fewer fasteners, and probably slightly lower production costs. Very elegant!

i just got mine and this is my first spyderco.. the blade is off centered.. there is a chip in the blade and it's not sharp at all . it's already rusting!

J/K

I just got this knife and all i can say is WOW. fit and finish is perfect. It fills your hand and give your hand more then enough room. allows you to get your thumb into a really nice position. also there is no1 that can say that this lock isn't stronger then the liner lock. i'm sold

idk if this is normal or not for this knife but it locks up around 40%

John, thanks for taking the time to make that video, snapping some photos, and scanning the Edge U Cation supplement. Now my quest begins to find one of these.

I just spent the last 30 minutes fondling my new Spyderco C36GTiP Military!!

:jerkit: Whoooooooo!! From last November until today....

Very nice build, my initial inspection reveals virtually no flaws. Incredibly smooth open, very nice 'Click' when the blade opens. Razor sharp. A true work of art.

:) I'm a happy, happy man.

Just got mine! This is the finest Spyderco I have handled. It was well worth the wait and the cost.

Got mine too. Trying to figure out whether to use it, sell it for a grotesque profit (?) or keep it virginous in the arsenal. I tried to stick an orange G10 scale on it, but chickened out before determining if it would work.

Got mine an hour ago and I'm 100% delighted! Much improved over the first generation all Ti! What a nice knife. I hate it when I get such a fine blade and get that inkling to stash it. It's a really nice knife ;) Knifeworks and Spyderco hit a homer on this one.

Mail lady walked right past my house. I really hate the local post office, almost everything comes in a day late, been noticing it for years. Never get updates on the usps site from their end either. I could have made a day trip and picked up the knife from the store. It amazes me that it's going to take 3 days for a package to make a 250 mile trip.

I won't be able to fondle mine for several weeks, since I'm over the big pond, but it looks like a winner to me,,,

Mine was in the mail box today. Opened the box with my other M4 knife. Thought that'd be appropriate. :D

Here they are together:

Overall it seems to be a top quality knife. Not sure how I feel about the steel lock insert and the screws holding it in place. I have an uncomfortable feeling that they'll scratch the blade, even though there looks to be enough clearance.

The next question is, "Do I use it?" For the time being I think I'll oil the blade and leave it in its box.

My M-4 Millie was suppose to arrive tomorrow! Saturday but when I got home from work my Wife with that look you know throws me a small box and says here you got something today!

The Knife is great and yes I have a bald spot on my left arm now!!!! nice and sharp!!! I cleaned her up and put some CLP on her and back in the box she went and in the Fort Knox for now!

Mine was shipped USPS Priority Delivery Confirmation so I had the lame tracking info you get from the USPS. But it was 3 days from Louisiana to Reno instead of 6! :D So I'm VERY happy

:(
Still waiting. Did kw send out tracking nums for your orders?

Got mine today. I thought long and hard about it and decided it's gonna be a user. I can't, with a good conscience, let this thing sit on a shelf. Thank you spyderco and knifeworks.

Hey Powernoodle...If you were to swap the G10's, that is put orange on the M4 and take the black off the M4 and put it on the orange Millie that would give you a pumkin millie. That would be awesome...are you listening Sal?

Got mine!!

This is my 3rd millie, and probably one of the best!! Mine was centered, lockup at %50, edge is ground fairly even (they're never perfect), and of course it's razor sharp! Overall, F&F is top notch, no complaints there!

One thing that disappointed me was the lock engagement sound. My D2 Millie makes a nice sharp "snap", but the Ti is more of a solid "click". But I know this is just a personal preference that will in no way affect my enjoyment of the knife. (and it's worth it for the Ti CRK frame lock.

The detent seems weaker than my D2 Military (which is actually pretty stiff), but stronger than my s30v. Still nothing to complain about though, it's actually pretty nice.

The steel lock-bar insert seems great, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it functions as a stabilizer.

On my cheap digital scale, the D2 millie weighs in at 122.2g, while the M4 comes in at 144.4g.

I really really want to put an FG scale on this knife... but it would be blasphemy to tear apart the d2 for that... A scale swap should be easy if you can manage to get the lanyard tubes separated from the scale, but I've never tried.

Mine will be a user, the main reason I bought it was for the CPM M-4 steel.

I was supposed to get mine today, but have a similar slow postal service in my neighborhood since they changed carriers. Oh well, another day after 11 months isn't too bad, but I should be sharpening mine and cutting with it right now. I hope the steel is as good as my Bradley's CPM M4, that is some hard, great sharpening and edge holding steel with the Taiwan heat treat. Not like my other CPM M4 is that bad at 62-63 RC, but up at 64-65 RC it just works a tad better, or so it seems. Getting this steel in a Millie is a very nice thing, and I can't wait to EDC it.

Mike
