If you want a real Homer Simpson moment, start thinking about the fresh, homemade DONUTS (well, scones) by lambertiana! Those will expand one's gut as well as beer!

DancesWithKnives

ah, this part if gonna suck. I'm not going to completely blow my diet, though- no matter how good the scones are

Add some bacon to the donuts & beer and you have a perfectly balanced redneck brunch. All three major food groups covered!:D

I'd like to add myself to the roster of the definite maybes.

I'm just getting into the Bushcraft thing, but wouldn't mind tagging along if y'all don't mind.

I'd bring along a 10/22 if I can scrounge up some ammo for it.

I could also bring an AR or shotgun, maybe something bigger?

(How thick is that berm? :D)

Guys with all the talk about how many guns are going to show up with. My nephew is going to get the fits.. He still tells every time about the shootguns John had. All the shooting he done. I told him the only way he comes on another trip to meet everyone is if he raises his grades and reads two books... He is getting closer to be an A student and he reads the 20,000 leagues under the sea... Every one made a very good impression on him. Getting to shoot the guns sure didnt hurt any lol..

Haha, wow, if I make it, am I going to be the only one there that has never shot a gun?

ETA: It's not that I don't like em (I want to pick up a couple down the line), just never shot one yet.

We'll just have to break you in gently! Here, try this .500 S&W, go ahead with just one hand, it doesn't kick at all!

Too bad I don't have one of those. But Ian's shotgun is very light with the pistol grip, and magnum loads can be a bit painful. You have to try it at least once or you're not a man. I don't know if I would be comfortable shooting a .50 there (I have shot a fair amount of 8mm and 7.62X54R there, but you have to be careful about the direction you are firing). But if gruntinhusaybah brings his Barrett, it would be tough to turn down.

I did manage to score a couple boxes of .45, so I will bring my G30 and my 1911. I don't have any 9mm, but if someone knows they will be bringing some, I can bring my Luger (WWII issue, 1940 manufacture).

I have a 500 Linebaugh custom revolver on a smaller frame than the 500 S & W---and no porting. It will ring your bell (and the bell of whatever it hits).

For those considering target shooting with any rifles that are registered as so-called "Assault Weapons", you should do a little research before bringing them. As I recall, you can shoot "assault rifles" only at a licensed range, on private property, or on public land where their use has specifically been authorized. I know it's BS but we don't want to have any legal issues. There may be a similar problem with 50BMG rifles.

Everyone who owns it should bring eye and ear protection.

Yea, and...uh...in addition to firearms you can also bring a knife or two. Lets not forget the joy of slicing and chopping big things into little things. :)

Ah man!!! I just realized I probably can't make it this time, dang it! I was really looking forward to this!!!!!!!!!!1

I think we don't get back from Hawaii until the 24th. Oh well, maybe next time.

You know, I feel so damn bad for you that I'm gonna sacrifice by taking your place in Hawaii. I'm generous that way. No need to thank me...really. ;)

All I need now is a smaller tent. I'm sure you guys will laugh at the size of the tent I have right now. 26 lbs, 160 sqft. Dunno how it'll handle a stormy weather, either.
