Calling Out Rick Marchand!

I can't wait to get to these. They're sitting on my bench staring at me. Oh June. Its a tough one this year. 25 nessies to finish before the 25th.

Leave it to me to bring up a thread that is a year and a half old, BUT since I just got my Snubnose and was researching its ancestory. Come to find out it has not ever been finished. Whatever happened to the two sitting on the bench? Any pics?

man i read all of this without realizing it was a zombie.
cool design, though i would like to see a finished product

I knew I saw the finished pics last year & was drooling over them.
Here is the thread with some sweet pics.

After reading through the thread again I see that Rick was going to do some distressing of the handles.
I wonder how that turned out..........they sure as heck looked fine after Andy worked his magic on 'em.

Thanks for hooking a brother up Mykel. But I would like to see them after Rick done the leather and the hemp wrap and distressing. Andy did you ever see them after that?

The knives are complete, but the glue joint popped because of wood movement. I have to re-handle them and get them back to Rick.

It was the "Great Wood Movement" of Spring 2011. Suppress the wood, dammit! You WILL do my bidding!!!!!

Rick

Insert Bevis and Butthead joke here, with reference to Wood Movement. Huh. Hu-huh.

Nice to see this thread pop back up, makes me want to see 'em finished!

But take your time Andy, I know how it is to have things on the back burner *Cough, cough* :o

I thought I saw some pictures on IG recently looked like the design! I wonder if any life can be breathed back into a project this old!

Hey Andy are these done yet ;)

I'm in for one.

Yes, if I recall correctly it was around mid 2010 or so :)

Yea, we finished this project years ago. I really like ole Rick. I ajusted the method to stock removal and thats when we started doing curley cues.

Neat. I'd love to see you hammer out a blade every now and then. Variation on a theme - i saw the forged Bushfinger from around this time.
