Camillus and Schrade of Old Given Short Shrift Now-A-Days

Man this thread makes me miss my schrade sharp finger. It flew off of my cut on the freeway while riding. How much are the old USA one’s going for nowadays?

Daedric Panther Daedric Panther just check out the bay auction site, lots of USA made on there from rough to NIB, easy to find and most reasonable in price (they are not rare). Cost is about what a new current USA made mass production knife from Case or Buck will cost you. OH

I've got a few (too many if you ask my wife) vintage Old Timers and one Uncle Henry. And I can't begin to think how many I've owned in my lifetime. A lot!

Now, you read a lot of complaints about the quality-control issues with contemporary Case knives. Janky edges, mis-matched scales, poor fit and finish, etc. It occurred to me that I NEVER got a sub-par U.S.-made Old Timer or Uncle Henry. At 54 my memory may not be what it once was, and we all look back in time with rose-colored glasses, but dang if Schrade didn't rival Victorinox for consistency!

Anyone ever get a lemon Old Timer or Uncle Henry?

Every once in a while. They were rarely perfect in fit & finish but most often they were very satisfactory and consistent.

I don't know, some of those are pretty rough and they act like they are getting rare.

I'd rather find a nib / nos in an old hardware store.

I reckon those are getting kind of rare as well....

If I can figure out how to post pictures I will upload mine later, but how many of you out there own some Herman Williams Schrades? How common are they? I've only come across a handful.
