Camillus and Schrade of Old Given Short Shrift Now-A-Days

Interesting Heritage Schrade: This run of Schrades all had year-marked Empire shields; so I thought!! This one has no shield like its brothers in 1984 and 1985!! A sweet 8OT in smooth Red Bone!! No shield!!
Here are some with shields;

That is a real nice 8OT Charlie! Would that have been a H. Williams touch on that Knife- or did it come out like that?

They let out a bunch of those knives later with no shields and the print on the ends of the boxes would say RB, for instance, for red bone.

Three examples of the 8OT in redbone for a special run in 1985 of the 8OT, the 34OT and the 108OT, some of which were put up in a display case/box and many sold separately.

Just finished my yard work for the week, gotta get cleaned up shortly. Carried my Camillus issue knife today while working in the yard and mowing. OH
After I get cleaned up I will choose something appropriate for the 4th of July weekend. OH

I have a Heritage series whittler that for some reason was designated a second and not finished. Also have this jigged bone trapper with stainless steel and the same shield as the ones Cal posted just above.

I took those scans on a very scratched area of my scanner!!

That Hawkbill is a stunner Charlie - I owned only a few H.Williams knives, sold them, and as we do travel on here, we look back at regret with what knives we let go!

I love that shield Charlie - evaded me so far!

That Divot Bone I rate up there with the NYK Co. and Challenge Bone- they are so so similar but have their own quirks - just stunning.

I think I have worked Charlie out...yup!

Everyone thinks Charlie is this real nice guy with such a generous nature who supports all with his knowledge and mentorship! ..................................

But...... I think Charlie is THE best torture artist that has ever existed - I can hear him chuckling sadistically when posting yet another unobtainable stunning knife that leaves us all drooling and squirming wishing we had just one, knowing this Charlie laughs and claps his hands once hitting the post button, knowing he has just added to the slow, slow, very slow burn of extending those wishes that never come true to the audience who scream for more in addiction.

Got down to our trailer on the coast Thursday evening and realized I hadn’t put a knife in my pocket - driving the wife’s car so no car knife for just such occasions. However, my tackle box came to the rescue, I had this older Uncle Henry stationed there. When I come back down I will make sure to leave a few knives at our trailer so I won’t get caught semi-short again! OH

Yes, Charlie is the top dog curator of that rare element "unobtanium." Fortunately there is a little spillover from various sources and we can lick at the kill like hyenas after the lion.
