Marcinek, It is the smartest closest answer to a dumb question. The next closest would be a friction folder with a long tang.

Glad to hear you are so smart. Friction folder blade rotates into the handle. Folder.

That "smart" example of yours does not. Blade does not go into the handle in any way. Fixed blade.

Sorry, Marcinek. Isn't the closest answer? It does fold one way or the other doesn't it? So between the dpx and a friction folder come up with something clever. Also I am dumb as the day is long, but I do love my knives. I took a impossible question, and turned it into a challenge. What can you come up with?

I came up with nothing, since a fixed blade is not a folder, so I must be even dumber! :D Welcome to Blade Forums, BTW.

I suppose while we are on the subject, can a knife with a lock be a slipjoint?

Oh no you dinnit! If the blade collapses into a handle recess, it's a folder. No matter what additional features that come with the knife.

Is the blade folding into the handle, is the the handle folding around the blade.

In new mainstream no morals America a knife can identify itself as either a folder or a fixed blade no matter what you meanies say

If you wanted to stretch things you could say it's both a folder and a fixed blade, if it were possible to hold it just by the blade guard:
