Crried a Puma 970 Game Warden for about 20+ years, for the last 5 years or so its a Boker 2000 or the Boker 3000 on my belt With a Leatherman super tool. in my front right pocket is my Benchmade 940 osborne axis lock. the axis lock is the smoothest opperating pocket knife i've used I like it so much i bought a second 940 then picked up the thumb stud 551 Griptillion then a mini grip
CS Gunsite II for a little over 3 years straight. Switched to a large CS Vaquero after that for 2 years, then downsized to a Buck Stridor SBMF that's been riding in my pocket for 5 months now. And I've had the same Leatherman on my belt for 8 years and counting.
My first pocket knife was a Spyderco Delica with a plastic clip. I carried that thing daily for like 7 years. Then I carried a military model for 3 years. A Manix for a long time. Yes I have done it but now with all the military variations I can't help rotating. I also carried a RAT-3 everyday for damn near 2 years, then I bought a Street Beat and I don't see it getting replaced anytime soon. The next knife I carry for that long will probably be the carbon fiber BG-42 Military.
Eventually, you have to take the knife out of the pocket and use it, or at least wash your pants more often then once every two years...
So, the answer is no...
Although I did EDC a Shrade Walden mini stockman every day for about 10 years...
Sometimes it has nothing to do with $$ or not having "enough knives".
Sometimes one finds the right knife and it stays with you.
For 30 years I carried the same 2 blade Craftsman pen knife. It was in my pocket each day from 1975 until 2005. At that point a "homeland Security" wannabe rent-a-cop tried to confiscate it.
My old and trusted friend was then retired to a safe place in the sock drawer and replaced with an SAK Bantam which has no soul but has been in my pocket for nearly 3 years.
I also carry a Sheffeld brand lockback "throwaway" for utility and emergency work. They cost $4. I have worn out one, threw one in a trash can to avoid detection and am now working with #3. I have had one of them in my pocket daily for 4 years.
Spyderco Catcherman, rear right pocket, since January 2005. It's my food knife.
I expect to do similarly with my ZDP-189 Caly 3, which currently resides in my front left pocket.
It's the primary EDC that I can't decide on.
I'm doing it now. I have carried the same Spyderco Endura for the last 15 years. Of course it isn't the only knife I carry, but it is the only knife that has been with me for this long.
Funny thing is it still cuts, and it is only G2 steel. Keeping it sharp seems to help.
From June of 1996 through August 2006, I carried a BM-Emerson 975 in my waistband every single day. There may have been a few days where it stayed home on top of the dresser, but I mean it in all honesty when I say I could count those days on my fingers.
Due to my illness regarding multiple knife purchases, this has not happened very often. I carried a Buck 301 stockman from about 1978 to 1983. I also carried a Puma stag stockman from about 1984 to 1987. I find that my Queen #9 stockman has been a regular companion for the last several years, too.
Amazing, mine is a SOG Flash II also!! I don't know why but for the price that is a great knife. Been carrying it for two years and plan to carry it a couple more!
