I am getting the feeling from watching this thread that we are all(anyone that does not want to share in the cost of the shipping shortfall should speak up now) in agreement that any extra $$ that needs to be reimbursed to Gus for the shipping cost shortfall must be covered amongst all the folks that ordered this knife.

Please contact Gus by phone or whatever your mode of communication is and calculate the cost spread out over the 45 of us and post it as a sticky so we can immediately remit payment..

I am in full agreement, I am also willing to pay for the ones that won't and I would think we could pay for Spark's overage since we bought him a knife.

I am not sure of how we broke down the cost of the knife, but I think we are not over by much, less than a dollar, I THINK. Maybe more.
 
Gus, I told you this before: if you're going to take a loss on this - even one penny - because you won't tell the rest of us, I will personally beat the crap out of you at Blade this year. And you don't get no chocolate SAK. :D
 
Ditto on the postage Gus, that makes like five of us who'll be at the Blade show, so ya better listen!

I'd be happy to handle dealings for the next knife folks, just let me say right now that it could take up to a year to get it :eek: :D :D . I live about twenty minutes from Canal Street, so if you want one from there it would be no problem for me to deal with them. I just hope I could do half as good a job as Gus.

I want to do anything we can to make sure Gus doesn't absorb any financial loss on this. Firstly because he did us all a huge service and shouldn't lose money in addition to all the time he's put in. Second because if heading this up is viewed as a losing proposition based on Gus's experience, I'm not sure who's going to want to do it in the future.

Darn. Now I wish that Gus DID have a PayPal account. That way, those of us so inclined, could each slip in a few extra bucks and there wouldn't be much he could realistically do about it. :D

For F's sake you damn pillock Gus!!! I'm entirely with my good pal Anthony on this one - you know I already paid a bit extra becasue I have a good idea of what it actually costs to ship to the U.K. If you need more, just let me know!

As as for anyone who harassed Gus. You obviously have never been involved in manufacturing or construction projects have you?
If I had 1% of every project I ran where either one of our effing salesman got the job by promising a quick delivery that the factory couldn't provide, or the damned factory were publishing lead times they couldn't meet when the order came in, I'd be very rich indeed!

Yes, I'm desperately keen to get my knife. Yes, I', twitchy that it's taken CC as long as it has. But doing my job you soon learn that NOTHING runs to schedule.
