A January picture of a Northern Cardinal from a few years back. He's eyeing the bird feeders from one of the Cedars in our side yard. Figured I'd post this for my fellow bird lovers.

Welcome back, Kevin; that Utica makes for a pretty grand entrance!:cool::cool::thumbsup:
I thought you were off on an extended curling world tour, but the garage repair is just as impressive to me.:D:thumbsup:

Definitely still curling GT! We have a couple rookies on my team this year so our record is only 4 wins 3 losses but we do have two wins in a row so the newbies are starting to improve :D:thumbsup:

Nice Gary, here's a Goldfinch on my feeder, odd to see just one as there's usually 8-10 of them at a time:) I like the superhero masks the Cardinal and Goldfinch sport.

Nice, Paul! We get them here too, in the warmer weather. You're right there is usually a "charm" of goldfinches.
Taken from the book "An Asylum of Loons". My son gave me the book on some occasion.

... and a Murder of Crows which I think is particularly unfair. I like crows, from very early on in my ute. ;)
They are quite welcome at my feeders.

Yes! I do recall that one! i have no problem with crows. I love how they chase the hawks!

I like hawks.

I remember one time years ago when I was little my dad and I were out at keystone lake riding dirtbikes and I watched a hawk swoop down to the water and catch a fish. When I told him about it he did not believe me. In his defense I was known to fib, in those days.

There's a lot of hawks in my area and they are seen regularly. I've always liked them.

That's great Gary!!! I have an app on my phone "Merlin Bird ID" by Cornell and it's awesome, in flight calls, songs, info on each species, I love it. The calls drive them crazy, to the point they try and enter in through the screen door:eek::D:)

That is a great app. I love playing the sea gulls cries.

I get a lot of hawks where I live, too. Once when I lived in a garden apartment complex, a hawk flew out of a bush just a few feet from me, with a rat in his talons. He perched on a pine branch maybe 8 feet off the ground or so and I watched him start to eat the rat. The beak make a funny scraping sound on the pelt.

Another time a hawk swooped down and carried off a squirrel that some guys at work had tamed.

A couple of years ago my daughter and I heard a horrible racket just outside our house and when we went outside we saw a hawk with a rabbit in his talons on the ground just a few feet from our porch. He was being harassed and dive-bombed by some Blue Jays. Our appearance scared off the Blue Jays, and the hawk gave up on having rabbit for dinner and flew off as well. The rabbit just sat there frozen for several seconds before discovering he wasn’t dead after all and hopping away.
