Where is his fat friend with the big rock on his back??

Just Tom,

Please keep this talk friendly. The guy you are talking about is Obélix, the big rock is a menhir, he is not fat at all, really not. He is just in good health.
I nevertheless accept your apologies.

Dan.

In the past few years, I've watched more Korean films than almost any other - certainly more than US cinema - also Australian and Turkish. Most of these are series of one or two seasons. My favorite Korean to date among at least 30 of the recent past, has been ARTHDAL CHRONICLES now waiting for season 2. There is a predictable formula to most of these but AC is all its own. You've got to be OK with reading subtitles. If you are - there is a whole world of excellent cinema awaiting.

I will have to give that one a watch. I am a big fan of Korean TV shows - at one time I had a paid subscription to the now defunct Dramafever web site so I could watch them.

I enjoy the ones I can watch on Netflix these days. They can make you laugh, cry, scratch your head in confusion, shake your head in disbelief, drop your jaw in horror, chuckle at the cliches and tropes (once you know what to look for after having seen enough of them) and fall in love with the characters. And that's just during Episode 1 of a 16 episode (1 hour each) run.

Probably like opera - you will either love it or hate it, or after time come to appreciate it after some exposure. I loved it after the first series I watched.

I don't think I've seen much Korean cinema, but I found Parasite to be an absolute joy to watch, I enjoyed every minute of it :) Sad to think that it may be sometime before many of us are able to go to the cinema again :(

Since Jack Black Jack Black and JaxBaron JaxBaron have been getting more practice than me lately... Hanging out in the basement this afternoon playing with some of my toys ;)

Fantastic collection Mike! :D My Tennis Elbow was playing up a bit last night, so I thought I'd have a break today, but then I got bored! :D

I really like these light tubes you made up for me, and they're gentle on my arm :) I can hit a match-head now, but only from 22ft, and not every shot! :D And the plastic ammo I'm using indoors won't strike it (not sure the matches here now would strike anyway) Thanks for all your help

I'm only seeing those on Netflix - I have quite a list that I could pass on if you care for some recommendations. No zombies, or gratuitous violence - lots of unrequited or damned slow evolving love stories ;) Still, there have been some that have awed me and yes pulled out the full range of emotions. Send a PM

Your turning into a sniper Jack!!! Sometimes I’m in awe at just how accurate a slingshot can be. Jealous of you and Crazy Canuck Crazy Canuck . No practice shooting for me today. I spent most of the day cleaning around the house and washing my truck. We already have 86f temps here in Florida.

we have a Vita Mix blender that can turn anything into a liquid/puree.
Hang in there, ED!

The first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere and it feels like:

For all you Game of Thrones enthusiasts.

I was somewhat reckless in my youth, and managed to survive it. I'm old now, not ancient, but old. I've become quite a bit more cautious, as I'd like to maximize my stay on top of the grass.

That said I'm going to err on the side of caution regarding this pandemic. I hope that others will follow the advise of the medical experts. I know I will.

Old aerospace aphorism, "There's old pilots and there's bold pilots. But there's no old, bold pilots."
Applies elsewhere, too.

I doubt there is going to be an annual knife this year.
Magic 8-Ball says, "Future Cloudy. Check back later."

My younger daughter made me watch Train to Busan with her when she went through her K-Pop-and-all-things-Korean phase. It was actually pretty good. The other Korean movie I really liked was Okja.
The Korean movie
Parasite comes recommended by my Sister...think a female Leonard Maltin crossed with David Strattons and Margeret Pomeranz s illicit movie critic lovechild.....I assoomed it was horror/violence / virus/ alien ghosts....but no...its a family affair with a layabout who sponges off them ....it got awards i think....

Have not seen that one yet, but I do remember hearing about it on the news. Train to Busan, on the other hand, is DEFINITELY a horror/violence/virus movie. And the zombies run fast...

I totally agree but just for the record my ammo is to protect family, not my TP.
Of course, absolutely, and for that a couple of rounds of bird shot will do. I just think it is silly to stockpile ammo thinking you are going to be fighting off hordes of marauding barbarians or something. I’m sure you would agree.

Full disclosure - I have a long and deep history with firearms, but gave up owning one probably twenty years ago. Some of my life experiences kinda sucked the fun out of shooting for me, and then for a while after that I owned just a single Browning 870 my dad gave me for home protection. Finally I just gave it back to him.

Anyway, sorry I brought it up. Lets drop it before it turns into a tiresome gun debate.

Ya know what, Vince? I was wondering the same thing yesterday: I bet that hair cuts aren't considered essential services. Not sure I'd be comfortable getting one at the moment even if they are...

Might have to break out the clippers if this continues for too long... Question is: do I take matters into my own hands, or try to convince my wife to give it a try? Will have to ponder that one a bit.

My wife has already offered, but I declined! Maybe I could do pigtails, like Willie!

I've been cutting my own hair for over twenty years now. I started in college, when there were no barber shops nearby. Plenty of salons, but those are for ladies. It took a bit of time, and I had to go bald a time or two, but learning how to cut my own hair has proven to be a very good idea.
