"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

Unusual thread started yesterday, at one of the Muzzleloading Forums I belong to.
(No, I was not the braggart who started it.) (I hope y'all ain't too disappointed.)

Thread was titled : I'm Covid-19 Positive! ARE YOU?
Why would someone want to brag about that? On a reenactment and muzzleloading arms forum, no less?
I didn't open that thread.

Whoever he is, I hope he will be one of the survivors.

With the the fear, absolute exaggerations and natural unease flying around in the wake of this virus outbreak, can you really trust anything you hear about?;)

Reading an article the other day I started to look at the comments-not usually a rewarding idea:D But somebody claimed-there's a lot of that going on- that viruses do not live 'well' or long on surfaces made of brass or copper. He stated that was why on old hospitals, schools, civic buildings handles/door plates were always made of brass or copper. Well, it's true old buildings had/have these whereas new use alloy, plastics stainless etc. But I wonder IF there is any substance in this? Probably not but interesting. Looks like I'll have to take back all my fulmination against brass:D It smells and it greens up greasy but maybe it's hygienic :D;)

No, very interesting read:thumbsup: Funny how copper got neglected in preference for more 'modern' materials, though it does require maintenance. Time to invest in copper;) but I aint changing me views about brass:D One reason I was never keen of the Big Buck.
Don't forget about Bronze Steel ;)
