"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

Hi folk,

Some news to report: At 8.30am (GMT) today I became a Grandfather! :) My middle daughter, Ellie, gave birth to Lilah, weighing 61b 6oz. Mother and baby (and dad Ricky) are well, and I'll be seeing them tomorrow :)

Jack

Congrats to you, Jack, on the blessed event and also my thanks for giving me a new signature line for my posts.:cool:

Thank you very much Elliott :) By coincidence, the very first person I bumped into and shook hands with (and had a pint with) after hearing the news was another friend called Elliott (the only other one I know actually) :)

I'll hopefully post ppics when I get back from Sheffield tomorrow :)

He was conveniently acting as my proxy. We'll look forward to seeing the images and sharing a pint. Even if virtually.

That´s my thoughts, too. I opened a beer for Jack and his family (and its new member of course) ... in Bavaria we call that a "Kindlbier" ... a friend of mine, father of four children, told me once, that this was the best way to celebrate the new fatherhood ... strange continental european traditions, I know...

Thanks guys, I'm very happy, all the more so for being able to share the news with you :)

I just had a non-virtual Warsteiner in your honor, Jack...not that I required an excuse. :D

Thanks for all your good wishes folk. I just got back from Sheffield and I'm absolutely shattered, but here's a quick pic of my grandaughter Lilah, one day old and still going through that Winston Churchill phase! :) More tomorrow :)

Jack, I'm afraid they're gonna have to rename that old standard to..."Whatever Lilah Wants"

You're doomed...but happily so. Congrats again.

She's beautiful, Jack.

As you already know, with small children the days last forever and the weeks fly by. Soak this up, and sit there and watch her grow as much as possible.

Will your upcoming move (if you ever stop photographing your Elliott knickknacks and actually pack) take you further away from her? I hope not.

~ P.

Right, move along, nothing to see here...
