It's probably just folks not thinking, for the most part, but it must be confusing for new posters hereAnd you're right, established members hitting the "like" button for offending knives is a head-scratcher.

Maybe some of us whip through and like without thinking.I get Newbies posting a modern knife, they don't know any better and just need to be informed.
I don't get established members doing it, it's disrespectful to the whole community... there are other places to post them.

My wife and I took the train from Syracuse to New York City on Wednesday (my 72nd birthday). We usually make the trip once or twice a year. Last time was November 2019. We scaled back our travels due to the pandemic.
We always stay near Times Square and the Theatre district. We go to a Broadway show and a few restaurants we like. We love the energy of the city. It's a nice escape for us.
I always bring a slip joint along, and carry it when I feel I can, which is most everywhere.
Just a few pics, since without them it didn't happen.
We always try and get to the Oyster Bar and Restaurant at Grand Central Station. Best Bloody Marys in the city and the Seafood Pan Roast is a favorite of mine. Boker Club was along on this trip.

A pic of part of the restaurant and one of the interior of the station, a grand old building.

We always try and visit St. Patrick's Cathedral. I said a prayer for you guys....

Last night we saw the Broadway play POTUS. I haven't laughed so hard in ages!

I know I do....please not the Porchenberg Chaingang ...I'll be good I promise.Maybe some of us whip through and like without thinking.

Wednesday was actually my birthday, too, although my day was somewhat less eventful.I took the girls over to a friend’s house to swim in the lake, got some stuff done around the house, then Eleanor had tee-ball practice in the evening, after which we picked up dinner and brought it home. Still a pretty good day.

As if!!..I'll be good I promise.
If you report the post, it will eventually be dealt with.A shame one of our hard-working mods can't go away to celebrate his birthday, without an outbreak of modern knives appearing in the forumThis place isn't the sleepy place it once was, and while there's an increase in posters, there isn't an increase in folks reading the sub-forum guidelines. Those folks have an excuse I think, but there are established members posting knives, which they KNOW break the guidelines here, and are just trying it on. And why are members hitting the 'Like' button on posts which very clearly break the guidelines? How about we make things here a bit easier for Gary and Frank, this is a nice place to hang out, with just a few simple rules? Why make extra work for the fellers that do a thankless job enforcing them?

Objection.
Your hounour my client is an obviously innocent man ...he cannot be judged guilty as he is quite obviously insane.
Just because he "likes" everything should we condemn him to a life of penal servitude on the brutal Porchenberg chain gang?
That does it. I'll buy the American flag master Barlow.
One of the many feathers in my cap Dan.Meako,
Are you advocating for yourself ?
Dan.
Thanks, Barrett! A belated Happy Birthday to you too! Sounds like you had a great day! I do recall birthdays past, much like yours. I treasure the memories. You will too!Sounds like you had a great time, Gary. Happy (belated) Birthday!
