"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

I like the white background, but sometimes turn the brightness down on my monitor.

I tried the other colors, but I always go back to the default white. Most of the programs I use normally have a white background, so it just feels consistent.

I went to the black the second it was available. But then I'm a lover of darkness rather than light...🤫
No one color seems to predominate. Adherents of all three. It is nice to have choices. I've been playing with all three since I discovered them. I didn't care for the grey, at least initially. May give it another go. Mostly like the black 🧛‍♂️, but I've gone back to the light at the moment 🌅 White's what I've been using since I joined. Guess I'm used to it.

Vale Big Porchy.
With great sadness the Porchenberg Aquatologarium ragretfully announces the sudden passing of Big Porchy.animal-size-comparison-40.jpg
The giant Narwhale..one of the Porches premier tourist attractions and most beloved creatures will be sadly missed.
While the official autopsy will take a few days...it is believed the 6ton beast died after choking on one of the many 2022 bladeforum trad knife pollsters he voraciously gobbled as they were thrown in to his pond for not paying attention.
Head keeper Steve Merkwin said
"Crikey ...the big fella just couldnt do it ...there was too many of'em.."

That looks like a feast there mate! 😁👍

Ugliest narwhal I ever saw. Looks almost like a sea lion from here. Man it’d be cool to have a narwhal tusk. I was reading Ruger and his guns by Wilson and if memory serves there’s a narwhal tusk in some of the trophies in the background. One can only dream.

Food oils have been used to lube guns sometimes, so I’d guess the slip joint on a pocket knife will do okay with it. For food safe, food grade mineral oil would be my choice. And I say that.... with the caveat that I use my knives for food, and use regular 3in1 or honing oil for them. Good thing I ain’t in California where that causes cancer.
