"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

I got a couple of 'em here and there that I earned. One time, I got an infraction for "major spam" because I was *reporting* major spam. The mod infracted me by mistake, rather than the person I was reporting. It got reversed, but the blemish remains in my profile.
I got a couple in error, and a couple of others not in error! :D The first I got was for 'deal-spotting', because I was offering to send Sheffield knives across The Pond! I made sure I read the Porch rules after that! I was so embarrassed that I did a giveaway :D

Looks like we get warnings for laughing at flipper posts now. see ya fellas when I see ya.
Correct.
He may be referring to this? https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/emoji-use-in-for-sale-threads.1871039/
this is a standalone post and not in the rules of the exchange post, maybe a mod can fix this to clarify for all?

Correct again.

It’s considered thread interference… I’ll see about Spark Spark making an edit to include this in the Exchange rules.

That's a perfect example to illustrate the phrase "the tables have turned".

I'm hoping that all the walking I've been doing for the past few years will protect me from getting an infarction! ;)

Lol, with infractions there's no guarantee Gary but the walking has gotta help.
But then I'm not a Mod or a Doctor so only time will tell. ;)

You guys remember the chiclets you used to get for an infraction! :D

Those went away during one of the software changes a number of years ago. I think it was when the software platform changed from BBS to Xenforo,
Yellow was a warning with no points.
Red was a warning with points.

Use of laughing emoji's as comments on sales threads was complained about by a number of sellers. Some sellers were likely flippers. Others were just overly optimistic about the worth of their knife. Still others were posters to whom certain individuals had taken a dislike and the emoji's were used to attack them. It was the last category that forced the issuance of the rule. It was becoming a problem.

Reminds me of that old saying, if you got nothing nice to say, then don't say anything....
