Is it just me or do the holidays seem to be running into each other these days?

Maybe Mrs. Claus arranged for that, just trying to remind Santa that, while he may only be on duty for everybody else for Christmas, she'd like him to step up his Valentines game.
C’mon Bro, in addition to pressures from Local 613 Toymaker’s Union, his sleigh mechanic retired this year, ever since COVID all the reindeer have red noses and are struggling with “Rudolph syndrome”, the EPA is trying to put additional restraints on his use of the ‘time folding device’, and once again the FAA has failed to acknowledge his annual flight as non-threatening, so it will be yet another episode of ‘dodge the drones’ … The man is under a HUGE amount of pressure …
🙄

Lol I've come to discover that there are three types of knife people

1). The life's too short to carry an ugly knife types. This includes collectors.

2). It's a tool, ride it hard and put it away wet. This includes aficionados or just people that needs a knife for work or day to day.

3). The wannabes, you know the guy who plans for random muggings, Russian paratroopers and apache raids in modern cities. This includes EDC gear nuts and preppers.

Sorry
This was a random day off musing

Hey y'all, I'm new to the forum so I thought I'd say hi. I found bladeforums a while ago looking for sharpening info, but I decided to join the forum after reading some of J jackknife 's great stories. Looking forward to being part of the community!

Welcome to a great community. His stories are what got me to become an active/engaged member as well 😄 I’ve found Bladeforums to be the best space to talk knives online.
I am enjoying some winter sun at the moment, but still suffering with my back 🙄 My plan for today was to walk along the beach, and have a paddle in the Atlantic 🙂 Then I realised that if I sat down on the sand to take off my shoes, I probably wouldn't be able to get up again! 😱☹️ Need a new plan! 😁😉👍

Jack, I believe I’ve read you suffer from sciatica? I too suffer from it with a L5-S1 8mm disc herniation. I’m able to manage the pain by doing yoga/stretching that focuses on the back, lower back, hamstrings, lats. I also use a very helpful tool, I call it my back-stretcher. It’s a plastic device with three different stages and you pretty much lay on top of it anywhere from 5-10 minutes at a time and you focus on doing deep breathing while laying on it and it stretches your entire back and provides much needed relief. It’s worth trying it out! I’m not sure we can post links if products here so I will PM you an Amazon link to one.

Hmmm... I detect some of all three in me.

1) I can't resist a good looking knife. (But the real pretty ones that I have don't get carried much, so I tend to OOH and AH, but not buy them.)
2) It's a tool, not a fidget toy. (I like to carry a knife capable of hard work, but I don't put it away wet. I take care of my tools.)
3) I don't prepare for random muggings,. (But I do carry a flashlight and something to pry with so that I don't mess up the knife. And I keep spare batteries, extra light bulbs in multiple wattages, and suchlike in the garage, so to a certain extent, I'm a "prepper". )

I'm just a bit of a random guy.

Same really.
There is certainly some cross contamination :p

Just need to vent post...

Saturday..Christmas eve after coming home from work I noticed my hood was absolutely steaming.
I couldn't tell from inside the truck but I could definitely smell the burning oil smell
Soooooo yeah I have a leak and I suspect it's a head gasket leak
That's just what I needed on Christmas Eve

Then yesterday, Christmas day the wife calls me from the other room in a panic
The sink is just pouring water and soaking the cabinet. Of course I happened to be in the tub when this occured.
I cleaned it out and noticed she had pulled the water line from the sprayer to the faucet out. I can fix that myself but I couldn't go grab one on Christmas day.

So yeah
Merry Christmas indeed
