You could whittle your way out anyway :D

Aarghh wrong thread........how do you delete posts, always forget.
Good on you Will...now Im going to have a nightmare about an avalanche of spam burying me and having to whittle my way out...but I can't find a knife. In the end I mutate into a giant spam monster...The Spulk....I stomp around destroying people who irritate me with my various flavoured finger tip laser beams...eg peanut for smooth talking politicians who use the word retirement as a euphemism for the need to work past 60 whilst fully understanding that bricklayers and otber physically demanding jobs are not the same as endless talkfests and backslapping taxpayer funded events....My catchcry would be ..
"SPULK CAN DO !
EAT THIS!"...then a jet of peanuts/maple flavouring/jalapenos or fake chicken emits from my fingertips like a minigun ....blasting them into submission.

Next Time : Mighty Spulk decides whether canned laughter is any good...usually not ...with hilarious results...and takes on Sir Nigel Watts-Flippingworth... CEO of the conspiratorial cabal of flagrant flippers in his first feature length film..
"Five Fingers of Fatal Flavour".

Never ate Spam as a kid. Father told my mother when they got married that he'd had enough canned meat during WWII to last him, and never to use any.
I tried some Spam later in life and determined that I had not missed much.
That’s exactly what my dad told my mom. Didn’t stop her from serving it up once a week when I was a kid. Of course my dad always complained but my brother and I loved it! Luckily mom was a great cook and was very creative with how she prepared it 👩‍🍳😋.

Sounds like a great 1950's science fiction flick.

Jack Black Jack Black aha..now I know where my Grandad got the saying 'spawney eyed parrot faced wazzock' from....Thanks for that ...never seen that before.
It was a play on a series of British bread adverts from the 1970's mate...

An old friend of mine had the comedy version played at his funeral a few years back. He was from an older generation to me, but by coincidence we both knew Tony Capstick. I met him a few times, as someone brought him along, as a guest, to the gun club I was a member of, in the early 1980's. He was quite well-known locally, and when he first attended, the Range Officer demanded to know which bloody idiot had written 'Tony Capstick' in the guest book! :D Turned out he was a bloody idiot though, he bought himself a Walter PPK, and took to carrying it around with him. One night, while drunk, in Sheffield city centre, he showed the gun to a taxi driver, who suggested it wasn't real, so Capstick fired it out of the window at a lamp-post! He was subsequently arrested, but while he lost his firearms license, he evaded jail-time.

Anyone else having problems with Imgur today? It's not been working for me for 13 hours now :(

I've had issues with Imgur several times over the past couple of weeks. I just give up and try later.

Haven’t experienced it recently, but every now and then I’ll get that as well. Hope it’s fixed for you soon (if not already), Jack.

Thanks guys, sorry to hear you've been having trouble too Frank :( Logging in and out a couple of times seems to have fixed things for now, though my photos got scrambled up a bit

I occasionally have trouble with it on my Windows PC. Just won't load my images and displays an error page, saying something like "Oops, something went wrong!"
At that point I use the Android app on my phone or tablet, and it'll be working.
It's been pretty reliable, all things considered.
Hope your issues resolve soon, Jack.

Thanks Gary, I think the issue might have been Google trying to log me in with my Google account, rather than with my email address 🙄👍

I am late to the "wow, am I old!" conversation.

I remember as a young man in my 30s, trying to calculate how much money I would need in the bank to retire comfortably (2 million, I ain't got it) and remembering the spreadsheets I put together showing the finish line of 2022, which is when I would turn 65. Well, that was last year, and here I am still working.

They bumped up the retirement age for full SS benefits somewhere along the way - for me it's 66.5, which is May of next year. For my wife it is 67, which will not be until Fall of 2027. And since I did not save up that 2 million, I am hoping to just keep working as long as I can (or as long as I can avoid a layoff).

Every year you are still working a regular job is one year you are not drawing down savings, and ideally still adding to the future pot. If I can make it to 70, I'm tapping out. That's the age where SS benefits cap out so no reason to delay taking them after that. 4 years, 3 months. Seems like a long time yet, but if I look in the rear-view mirror, that would be May of 2019, which seems like not that long ago.
