Great stuff Andi! She looks as happy as you do!

I just came back from my grandma´s 88th birthday. I had about oneandahalf litre applewine which my uncle made for himself. A great stuff.

Grandma told me again several stories about her youth while she was doing her duty in German Airforce (Luftwaffe) through WWII. She´s still as good as possible and has a positive mind about life in general. She´s a widow for almost nine years now. She´s just my granny....

Took the pic today of me and my beloved grandma...

Thanks guys! :)

The pics you are showing off are great, Kevin. Some sunshine would really be nice here.

Very nice photo, Andi! You are lucky to have such a close relationship with your grandmother. My Pop-pop and I were very close as well; he was born & raised in your neck of the woods, and was drafted into the Navy during WW2. He had some stories to tell, also!
Hope you had fun, and enjoyed the time with your family. :)

Pass on some birthday wishes to your grandma Andi!

Kevin, that looks like a really nice place to be...much better than the fluorescent windowless laboratory I'm in now :grumpy:

Nice photo Andi

Those are great pics Kevin, I could do with a bit of that sunshine too! :)

Andi send your grandma some birthday wishes from GA!
Kevin why must you keep showing me warm SUNY beaches....its cold and rainy here..why?

Thanks for the wishes, fellows :)

@silenthunter: The Helle Dokken seems to be a good outdoor folder. Especially the laminated steel would make it interessting. I haven´t had any Helle knives til now. But they have a quiet good reputation here in Germany/Europe.
Sorry, that I can´t tell you more. I was already thinking about getting a Helle knife.

I can really see the family resemblance. :) Enjoy your time with her!

Thanks guys, and sorry to the folks it made a little sad with their current locations. That was not my intent. But hey, I have 500 photos so it could have been worse :-p

I think I was good for the month of January and managed to not buy any knives! I really over indulged in December, but I do think that my last purchases were the #15 barlows in December, and that was it. If I can hold off and save up, maybe I won't be robbing Peter to pay the knife maker later this year.

Happy Birthday Gary!

Man, it's been a bit since I have posted here; there is so much to catch up on!

Just thought that I'd let you all know some exiting news: I finally DEP'ed in to the Marine Corps and will be leaving for boot Feb 25th!
After months of ridiculous delays, paperwork issues, etc...I finally got a ship date...

Looks like I won't be posting until this summer, just in time for bikini season
I still have s bit to wait, but I had to tell someone!

I love this place, I'll see you all again this summer.

Hey all. Like I promised, here are pictures of my precious Peanut holding her peanut. Today is their first birthday! She has been sicky the last week, but she was hamming it up for these pictures.

For those new members among us, when the doc pulled her out, she said "Oh what a little peanut!" So, I set about trying to find a peanut made on her birthday. I was able to find one with the help of a wonderful dealer, after 5 or 6 others came up empty. She gets this one when she gets married, so I will lose both my peanuts on the same day. :(

Sorry there are so many. I couldn't choose just one.

The day she came home for, the hospital:

When the knife finally arrived, a few weeks later:

And finally, tonight after she finally woke up from the longest birthday nap ever:
