Happy Birthday! My sister lives in China, and according to her, you will have a wonderful year.

Well, if you guessed something that begins with "k" and ends with "-nife," you were on the right track.

Betcha didn't see this coming, however:

Truth be known, neither did I, at least, not yesterday. The knife's been months in the making (I went custom primarily to get the right Blue-- priorities), and here at the end it shipped just in time to seemingly miss my birthday (which wasn't a goal, just an ohsoclose coincidence once nigh).

The tracking information said "Monday" (tomorrow), but it showed up yesterday instead, on my birthday. How cool is that?! Its arrival definitely made the (birth)day.

It's the Strix (I'll let y'all puzzle out what that's Latin for ;)), it's blue, and it's mine-all-mine. The patina you're beholding is the result of its first meal, my birthday dinner at a restaurant.

Thanks! Although in the interests of full disclosure, I asked James to take "purse" out of his sheath description. I have many awesome bags, and deep pockets (literal, not metaphorical), but not a "purse." Heh.

Our waitress was rather new and somewhat excitable, so I was my discreet self and simply used my knife. It push-cut through the leftover steak today at lunchtime, less discreetly so. :)
