"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

There's a thread, but it's in a less visited section so I will voice it here. @Codger_64 has stepped into the great beyond. Michael was authority on Schrade knives, and will be greatly missed across the forums.
Thread is here:
That's sad news ☹️ Thanks for the link Frank 👍

Mothers desperate to find a good replacement for talcum powder. Current baby powder products use corn starch as a basis. Since diaper rash is caused by bacteria, and corn starch acts as a nutrient for bacteria, corn starch based products don't work real well for preventing diaper rash.

"Butt paste" contains zinc-oxide, which is known to have anti-bacterial effects.

The knife gods are frowning on me. City Stock gone missing in the house some where..😮‍💨😰
Good luck 🤞!

I did that yesterday afternoon, except for a windup wristwatch so I wouldn't forget and start swearing at the TV.
Oops!
Thanks for the reminder, Jer. I took care of some clocks at bedtime last night, and did the microwave clock and oven clock while making breakfast this morning, but I haven't done my Casio digital wristwatch yet! Fortunately, "springing forward" an hour on the Casio is easy once I remember how to get the hour digit flashing, although "falling back" an hour requires that I move the Casio forward 23 hours (a tedious 23 clicks on the tiny, finicky button).

My son and I both have G-shock Casios. They both have a setting for DST on/off. You might want to look up the manual for your Casio and see if there is not an easier method of "falling back".

You got my hopes up, especially when I found a webpage for Casio DST setting on which I just had to click on the "module number" of my watch to link to what turned out to be detailed instructions. Unfortunately, they were exactly the instructions I use.

It's probably a "you get what you pay for situation". IIRC a Casio I owned previously had a button to switch between various "screens" on the watch face (alarm, stop watch, etc.) One of those screens was "standard time" and another was DST, so I could just choose the appropriate screen a couple of times per year. But my current watch cost about the same as the old one, even though the current one is probably at least 20 years newer. Same price after 20 years of inflation is likely to mean fewer features.
