We always say firewood warms you year round. You get got all hot and sweaty cutting it up, then again splitting it, then again stacking it, then again bringing it to burn, and finally the 5th time when you burn it to heat the house. Looks like a job well done. The firewood's all in, and stacked for the Winter. Yay!
Yeah. A couple times. We have baseboard heat that we use in the Fall & Spring, but a wood stove has been our primary Winter heat source since 1976.I'll bet you've done this before.
You will know if the winters really cold when your down to burning your pallets lol, remember when I was young I had my gf over at a house I set up with my buddy and she volunteered to make a fire late at night,a few hours later we were running outside from smoke, the walls had to be repainted in the furnished basement and a few rooms upstairs lol,sad part is she grew up in the bush until she was 12,but beer puts a "damper"on the memory lol.The firewood's all in, and stacked for the Winter. Yay!

Reminds me of the scene in Christmas Story. Of the old man down in the basement cussing, and the smoke rolling out the door, "Oh for ^$@#@*(sakes! Who the ^&%# shut the *^%#$%@#@ing damper again?"And might make you forget to open it!!!![]()
