"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

Darren McGavin was in a series with Burt Reynolds in ancient times. Burt said Darren was going to be very surprised three days after his death.

Simon Oakes! Was that Kolchak's editor in Nightstalker? Carol Lynley as the girlfriend in the pilot movie.

D. McG. was good as Murphy Brown's dad, too.

He was in a movie I only saw a bit of, where the US and China agreed to avert an all out war by leaving it to their meanest jungle-fighters alone on a tropical island. Mc Gavin died of the other guy's poisoned razor blades shortly after killing the other guy. And refusing to send the signal to prove our side won.

We really are, Charlie. Our street borders a large green corridor with a 90-acre forever wild area just north of us.
It's a regular wildlife show!
There a live program on the public tv broadcasting from hidden cams in the Rambouillet forest north of Paris 24/24 til the end of september, title is "call of the deer" and believe me, at the moment (#8pm here), there's a lot of rumble to hear around !
Expect few new bucks next year!

That's a cool picture and the fact they didn't scadoodle when they heard you coming, I've never witnessed that before, I have heard the antlers rattle from a distance more than once though I did catch a bull and a cow moose fornicating.
I took that pic from a second-story 3-season room we have on the back of our house, using a camera with a zoom lens. I did hear the antlers rattling. It's the first time I've seen it in the wild. We don't see many bucks, but we have had a dozen does and fawns at one time.
