According to this drill bit size chart, the closest to .051" looks like slightly more than 3/64" and slightly less than a #55 drill bit.Can one of you math guys tell me how many inches in on our USA system is 0.051" ? Im putting together a gate and it calls for a gap of 0.051" . Would that be 1/16", 1/8", ? Somebody help me out please. Do you divide something into something - obviously you got me.

It seems he left in a huff, closing all his threads, a year and a half ago.Good morning allAnybody heard from James (Redsparrow) lately? I see he was last on BF in January of 2025. I was searching for the "Smalls" thread this AM and couldn't find it in the Traditional forum... I believe James started it so maybe that thread is gone if he hasn't renewed his membership?

I remember many of those members. Thanks for posting this.As long as we are on the subject, and in the same spirit that TCM has at the end of each year when they show all the people who have passed, I looked at some old posts and have a long list of folks who have not been seen here for at least a year, some over ten years. I know some of them have been called home, while most have stepped away for one reason or another. In remembrance of porch members we miss:

last logged in May 2023I remember many of those members. Thanks for posting this.
There was another member who used to post frequently. His forum name was 2Dead and his first name was Trand. I remember him very well but I have not seen him posting for a long time.
Thank you Frank! I will see if I can find any of my own posts that were in the "Smalls" thread and maybe we can revive it. If not, I will start Part Deux.Hatchet_Jack last logged on this morning. As 5K Qs mentioned, he wanted to spend more time with family.

I ran a search but did not find it either. But I note that in leaving, he deleted a lot of thread titles of threads he had started. (Gold members can edit the titles of threads they have started.) So the search function can no longer be used to find those threads. The threads are there, but have nondescript single letter titles. Best I can suggest is to start a new thread. If you do find the thread, contact Gary or I and we can fix the title.
It is unfortunate that in lifting a finger at me, he also got others.
I believe Red Sparrow left in protest of one of my posts. This has been known to happen occasionally over the years with other mods and other members who left BF because of disagreements with those mods.
I hope he still enjoys knives and is well.
It wasn't hard... The "Smalls" thread title is just called "S".Hatchet_Jack last logged on this morning. As 5K Qs mentioned, he wanted to spend more time with family.

I restored the name "smalls" and I unlocked it. He deleted his opening post. I cannot restore it.It wasn't hard... The "Smalls" thread title is just called "S".
Superb! Thank you, Frank.I restored the name "smalls" and I unlocked it. He deleted his opening post. I cannot restore it.
There was another thread with that same title of "S". It appeared to be about the "GEC 77 Pattern", so I gave it that name and unlocked it.
