"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

by no means was I complaining about being cut, I'm really surprised it didnt happen before this. normally I get a knife, take it out of the box, sharpen it up (they're never sharp enough out of the box it seems) close it, stick it in my pocket, and then get a bandaid or some superglue to seal up the cut XD. there's a reason I carry a tube of superglue and seveal bandaids with me wherever I go..... XD

You must have been treating it very well. They usually bite only when they sense neglect or careless behavior from their owners. You must have been getting careless, and it gave you a wake up notice.:D

One time in 8 months isn't bad at all. Heck, I cut myself three times in five minutes on the SAME FINGER when I first got my GEC 23 Pioneer Jack.

Really? You're lucky to have a finger left with one of those monsters:D:D:eek:

Yeah, the main blade has a very authoritative half stop. The blade would stop and my fingers kept moving. It's gotten a lot better now after repeated oiling and opening/closing, both in smoothness and just knowing what to expect. It's definitely the knife I have to respect the most when opening.

Just a quick request here.

My wife is a 4th grade teacher. One of the office ladies 12 year old daughter got bucked off her horse right in front of her daddy and he ran over her killing her. Truly tragic for the family. This close to Christmas, the daddy probably tearing his self up trying to think if he could have done anything different, the momma losing her little girl, all of it just a terrible thing to deal with.

So I'd ask for prayers, positive energy, smoke offerings, or whatever means by which you offer up a desire for comfort and healing to do so for these folks. I don't know the family, but my wife obviously knows the mother. It's just a sad thing for a family.

Thanks.

Oh gosh, Amos, that's tragic. Smoke and prayers sent to the family from Philly. It seems unnatural, in this day & age, for a parent to bury a child. My strongest sympathies.

Sorry to hear that. This must be the hardest for people - bury their child long before its time.

Smoke and Prayers sent from my side of the pond.

Prayers and best wishes sent. What a horrible tragedy. I can't Imagine the heartache and pain.

An awful thing to happen. I'll keep the family in my prayers.

I'd like to ask the forum to spare a thought for the families of my two colleagues and the seven others who perished in the helicopter tragedy in Glasgow last weekend. Christmas will be tough for many this year.

Smoke going up for all in need. Godspeed.

Praying now, that the Lord's peace would come abundantly to those who need it most in the face of these tragedies.

Prayed. A cousin of mine died exactly the same way when she was nine. My aunt and uncle thought of her every day until they died. Not sure my uncle, a Presbyterian preacher, ever forgave himself even though he did nothing wrong.
