"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

Rest in peace Anne Lowe. I was honored to be with you when you made that final trip. I am glad you are with my grandfather, and your parents. I know it must be one heck of a party.

Sorry for your loss Dan. Prayers coming your way.

Now, a little report from the "summer in Sardinia" theme :) I spent last Sunday out on a boat tripvisiting the small beaches of the Orosei gulf (on the East coast of Sardinia). A tough coast, full of rocks and caves, and with some nice beaches; some of them can be only reached by the sea, while others are accessible on foot if you're willing to take a one hour walk into the woods. Pictures (for technical problems) are not the best I could have taken, yet I'm glad to welcome you on a wonderful area of my homeland.
For the pure blade chronicles, I was carrying a Vic Climber :p

I'm a bit of a lurker on this forum and just had to say that the camaraderie and respect shown here is incredible. I'm a long-time (for someone my age) lover of traditional knives and thanks to a couple of members here I have finally begun my collection. May the traditional forum ever flourish!

On another, more somber note, my condolences to those of you who have lost someone near and dear, I pray you find a way to continue seeing the good in things, as hard as it can seem.

Dan I'm sorry for your loss, but glad you got to be there at the end. I am certain that at least part of her knew you were there. My condolences to your family.

Karen found this today and I thought I'd post it here for the members. Especially to those who have lost a loved one.

"To my fellow travelers, at birth we boarded the train and met our parents, and we believe they will always travel on our side. However, at some station our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone. As time goes by, other people will board the train; and they will be significant i.e. our siblings, friends, children, and even the love of your life. Many will step down and leave a permanent vacuum. Others will go so unnoticed that we don't realize they vacated their seats. This train ride will be full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hellos, goodbyes, and farewells. Success consists of having a good relationship with all passengers requiring that we give the best of ourselves.

The mystery to everyone is: We do not know at which station we ourselves will step down. So, we must live in the best way, love, forgive, and offer the best of who we are. It is important to do this because when the time comes for us to step down and leave our seat empty we should leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train of life.

I wish you a joyful journey on the train of life. Reap success and give lots of love. I thank you for being one of the passengers on my train."
