G'day
Tomorrow Monday 26th January is Australia Day commemorating the arrival of the first fleet in 1788 and the claiming of Australia in the name of King George 3rd.
The whole business of discovering the place and colonising it took a bit of doing and so should be commemorated I think.
Many Australians see it as little more than a commemoration of public drunkenness/a chance to push some political wheelbarrow. The fact is we love public holidays and if you want to call it "invasion day" or "lesbians with chainsaws day" or "lets get a new flag day" or whatever-No worries, just get another date.Happy to get the day off and ignore the cause completely.
If anyone is keen ,how about posting some fact or fiction about Australia that you know of.
eg -Did you know that Vegemite makes an excellent substitute for sunscreen? just smear it on,crack a beer and get the meat on.
GOOD ON YA.

Have you tried the Tim Tam Trick yet Christian?![]()
Haggis tomorrow with neeps and tatties though
The Tim Tam Slam? I tried it with milk once, didn't care for it. I heard the trick also works with hot chocolate. Sounds delicious, I've gotta go out and get some. Thanks for nothing Jack!![]()
Are we allowed to say that here?

Scotch fillet is about as close as I got to celebrating Burns birthday.
Can you BBQ haggis?
Jack -a Tim Tam is a close cousin of the Penguin biscuit which you can probably get at your local supermarket.
Yes. Wrap it in foil. Consume with whisky. Bonza.![]()
I haven't had anything deleted, but I suddenly have pages of the same pictureIs anyone else having problems with Photobucket? This past week I've had a load of photos deleted, sometimes immediately after I've uploaded them, sometimes a day or two later. It's really annoying as of course the pics then disappear from threads![]()
