"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

Wow Kris, I'm just picking my jaw back up off the floor after realising I'd been sat staring at those bolsters for a full five minutes!   Makes a change from all those scrappers you usually carry my friend! ;) :D

Nice post Andi, I often wonder about some of our former regulars. Hopefully they're well, and will come back to us one day soon :)

This is my first high end knife and I am quite pleased.

Because your Steve Dunn and all your others are just these low-end run-of-the-mill knives, right? We might have slightly different definitions of the term.:D:D

But seriously, I'm in awe . It is a liner-lock, right? Can't really make it out in the last picture...

Wow Kris! Thank you showing us a look at your new beauty, that is a stunning piece of art
:thumbup::thumbup:
Congrats!

Esav took out the trash this morning.

Good stuff Frank, Esav always does excellent work

Enjoy the rest of your weekend my friend :)

That is almost a piece of art, Kris! Congratz on that wonderful folder!! :) I can´t wait to see more of that knife.

Gorgeous knife, Kris, and quite the collaboration!

Thank you gentlemen, I am quite fond of this one and am really looking forward to Caleb's pics, he does such a great job.

Thanks Sturzi, it is a liner lock and the action is unlike any knife I have ever held. Johnny spends alot of time on each knife and commands a high price, at $3800, this is high end to me.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

I have not visited this thread for several days, appears a lot is happening:cool::)

Phil - Congratulations! A handsome young man! Enjoy every second because they grow up entirely to fast!

Jack - Thank you for the wonderful photos and for sharing with us. :)

Thanks, Frank. I know you do it for free, but we would have passed the hat if necessary. :D

It's a testament to how peaceful and cordial it usually is around here that a weak troll makes such an impression. :) Best porch on the internet

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

A happy Easter to everyone. It's a beautiful morning here, sunny and 55° with the high forecast to reach 75° later today. Perfect weather to hunt eggs this afternoon. :)

LOL! :D

Hope everyone is having a pleasant Easter weekend. I can see a pile of recent finds starting to accumulate on my kitchen table! ;) :D

Happy Easter, Jack. Loved the photos and your travel journal. With England having a rich maritime history there's no shortage of beautiful coasts to photograph. You should go to work for the Rick Steves's tours! I also read in my research of narrowboats that your country has 2,200 miles of canals that criss cross the entire country! I have to admit to being very drawn to the narrow boat thing. Though the coast area are beautiful. Thanks again for the photo tour, love it!:thumbup::thumbup:

Excellent Stephen, a glorious day here too :)

Thanks a lot Carl, Happy Easter to you too my friend  Aye, we certainly don't have that far to go to find the coast here on this small island! It's incredible how the canal network, and the railway network, which came shortly after, and which was once far bigger than it is today, was built in such a short space of time - a lot of hard work, which had a massive impact. I hope you get a chance to explore the canal network here one day Carl, here's a pic for you :)

Have a blessed Easter, everyone! Sunny and 65° here today, going to do some gardening in a bit.

Have a Happy Easter or Passover or whatever you're celebrating today.
This will have a good dent in it by day's end. My wife's "Bunny Cake". She makes it every Easter just like here mom did.

My mother used to make a lamb cake for Easter. Because, Roman Catholic. Christ was the Agnus Dei, the “Lamb of God.”

She topped the frosting with shredded coconut. It made a surprisingly woolly lamb.

It might make a furry bunny.
