"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

I wonder if gas hoarders know that the octane continues to go down the longer you store it? even with stabilizers the fuel will go bad and wont be suitable for a motor vehicle. I hope I never live near one.

I'm definetly not a gas hoarder. I'm burning that stuff up and covering as much countryside that I can before some clown decides we can cross this great county of ours powered by long life light bulbs.

I've been toying with pure ethanol and hydrogen cells...I'll never stop the purr of a big v8 along the highways! :D I haven't decided yet but I'm going to run my rod on either ethanol or hydrogen, hydrogen is better in that its practically free to produce minus the cost for catalyst but ethanol is becoming more and more available at the pump.

That said, I'll drive anything thats fast...the electric cars they produced in the 70's i think it was had an insanely quick 0-60 mph time.

An honest Q. Everyone thinks I'm crazy when it comes to knives. Except my daughter. She's 2. I have hundreds(?) - I don't count. Two Hickory Hill knife rolls and then some. Some nice. Some garbage. All hold meaning for me for the most part.

Daily, I carry a Leek in my back right pocket and a slipjoint (smallish) in my right front. I may have another knife on me if, say, I'm wearing my MC jacket (always one in there). Or if I am fishing...maybe. Mostly it's if I'm wearing a jacket. So, I read on here about people carrying 3,4,5 knives. I am not judging at all and this is an honest question. Why? Variety...empty pockets...

I like to alternate my slipjoints and that is fun, so I get the variety, but I wouldn't personally put more than one slip and my leek on my pants at one time. (Or a fixed blade in place of the leek if I'm outdoors). Genuinely curious what the motivation is.

Admittedly, because I'm probably a little nuts. Mostly because I have the pocket space, a good belt, and it's hard to leave them all behind each day. It's more about just liking to have them with than thinking I need them- kind of like jewelry:)

Anyone get the new Cutting Edge catalog? I couldn't afford them in good financial times, but the offerings from Enrique Pena (two trappers and two jacks) were absolutely gorgeous. Enriques, I guess interpretations the correct word. Anyway, simply beautiful. Look like great users too. Wouldn't have any of the worry about using them though.

My son-in-law left this week on deployment aboard the USS BATAAN in support of Operation Odyssey Dawn. He's a helicopter mech and they could be on deployment for 9 months. Check out the website and Facebook pages and keep our nation and troops in your thoughts and prayers.

Ever since this thread...

...by Ash (KnifeCrazied), I haven't been able to shake the notion that she had written a perfect chorus. As I mentioned in the thread. Well, today I had a few hours to kill, was playing with my OWN SBJ, and this happened...an ode to the SBJ. Hope y'all enjoy. It will only let you play 30 seconds of the song unless you click on the blue 'free download' and download it to your computer:

There seems to be some confusion. :) I was bored and recorded this song as an ode to the SBJ on Garageband cause it is too rainy to ride my motorcycle.
