American Dingo. That's a new one. Is it a wild dog breed descended from the Asiatic wild dogs like the Aussie Dingo?
Dingoes generally have a tell tale white flag tail and white socks- they come in various forms from black through to snow white.
If its anything like the one a mate of mine had years ago be careful with it. "Ringo" could climb trees. It dug a huge hole in his driveway (dirt) one night into which he backed his van in the morning on the way to work. Broken rear axle.
He foolishly took it to the pub one night where it killed someone elses dog that came up to say hello. No fight, just a swiftly meted out death.
I think like most dogs it depends on the owner to learn behaviour. Much like keeping a pet fox or coyote the wild is not far from the surface.

I can't find a link but I visited a zoo in southern England a few years ago and saw Sean"The Wolfman" Ellis .
He gave a fascinating talk about wolves and dogs.He had a story where a vet had contacted him about a dog belonging to a sweet old lady.
She had bought the dog as a pup from "travellers" or pikeys. They told her it was a purebred Alsatian. It grew to an enormous size -not ridiculous but bigger than any Alsatian it was a female and lived quite happily with the old lady. Except.
She rang the vet because she was concerned that her dog was responsible for killing other dogs and several cats in the neighbourhood over a few months. She seemed to think it might be getting out at night while she slept. When? Oh Only when its a full moon.
When she brought it in for a vet consult he was very concerned and contacted Sean Ellis who visited the lady and the dog.
Only it wasn't a dog it was a full blooded female Alaskan timberwolf.
He asked if the "travellers" had had anymore of the pups and was told there was maybe 4 or 5 others they were selling.
So perhaps somewhere in the suburbs of England there are "pet" wolves.

The America Dingo is different. Shy but supposedly great family dogs. Great around kids. My son's is now three months old. Just a sweet dog.

I was watching The Christmas Story, about the kid wanting a Red Ryder (too early, I know). Listening to the narrator, I thought I was reading one of Carl's stories. They both have the same storytelling abilities.

We need to hear a Christmas knife story Carl!

You would enjoy, In God We Trust: All Others Pay Cash and Wanda Hickey's Night of Golden Memories, those were the two books the screen play was based upon. Shepard was a great storyteller, the books are a bit more risqué but very funny.

Have Bullwhip Will Travel.

His names is Boris but "Bullwhip " suits him better-hes not at all friendly-like a troubled foster child. Hes getting there though. Ive had him 3 months maybe and there is no way on earth I would have had him draped over my shoulder initially.I handled wild pythons that were better behaved than this one.
We are still on a 2ft exclusion zone from faces policy-easier said than done with an almost 2metre/6ft python and still growing. We'll get there.;)
He turned around and gave me "kiss" on the arm a couple of weeks ago-didn't latch on or anything or even strike. i hardly felt it but when I looked there was a lot of blood leaking out of me.
I spoke to a guy at the pet shop where I get supplies -he has an Olive Python -which get to 5metres-he said when it bit him the force of the strike felt like getting punched by Tyson then it latched on and had a chew and threw 2 coils round his neck and nearly killed him. The bite wound went sceptic ,he nearly lost his arm and couldnt use it for a couple of months."apart from that shes a real sweetheart".
niiice.:)

I made the mistake of leaving a certain cutlers catalog on the seat of my truck. My father saw it, and knew right away which knife I was looking for, the Case Bose cattle knife. I asked him jokingly if he was going to get it for me, and received his stock answer of bull$;). However, I find that my baby sisters boyfriend is a knife nut. He is a good kid, I gave him a Remington bushpilot made by Camillus for Christmas last year. It had been resharpened after the tip was knocked off, but still a great blade. He said his grandfather asked him if he knew what he had in that knife :D. Anyway, he's a Ford guy, about the only thing I can hold against him ;), and we are going to get him a Case knife with the Ford logo on it. I was hoping I could find one that came with the Ford truck. The diecast truck, not the real Ford truck. Those come with a free dog, so you have someone to walk home with :D.

General Motors and Toyota have been the only way to go for me, so please don't hate me.:foot:

That is a beautiful python Meako! Looks like a Morelia bredli?

In the past I had a carpet python and a macklot's python. The macklot's have a reputation for being mean, but she was a sweetheart, except when there were feeder rats around. The carpet had a bit of a mean streak and was definitely a "2 feet from face" kind of guy.

I'm not afraid of snakes, but I would say that as a good rule of thumb I consider all snakes to be "2 feet from face" kinds of snakes. :D

I hope everyone who celebrates had a happy Thanksgiving.
Every year, I make chopped liver and sculpt it into festive or topical shapes. Here's this year's

 Amazing idea, goes deep in our hearts! Hope you got some sweet wine to drink with, do you know Monbazillac?

Sadly now our turn to spare a thought for those unfortunate in California.

Get stronger every day Bob:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Prayers daily from the Dakota's;)
+1 . I miss his avatar and the man behind. Hope to read better news from him soon.

I go for my drivers lisence test tomorrow wish me luck and I hope Bob get better
Did you get it?

I used to see hedgehogs in my garden all the time, but these past few years I haven't seen a single one. A huge increase in the local cat population probably hasn't helped, but the species are in serious decline nationally. So I was pleased when I came home to find this little feller. With all the rain we've been having here, he was probably looking for the ark! :D

A most useful animal there were many in my parent's house down in Savoy, they protected our strawberries efficiently. Lots of them are crashed when attempting to cross roads. Please give him a stroke on my behalf. :D
