yikes! are you all stocked up with provisions?

Yes, and got the lamps ready as there have been power failures. I live on a hill though, so don't expect to suffer any direct flooding

It's happening more and more :( Definitely bring an umbrella if you ever visit! :D

Thanks Duane. I'm not sure, but it's the worst flooding we've ever had here, and there's more to come in some areas :(

Jack,

I've been following the news regarding the River Thames flooding and I must say that it would scare me a little if I were there. I hope you continue to have good fortunes and luck not getting flooded yourself.

Good call on the location of your residence Mr. Jack. I live near the top of a hill as well. ;):)

You will probably have drought next summer.:o

I wish we would build reservoirs to save flood water for droughts.

I'm not sure if it works like that.
The reservoirs would need to be in the middle of towns- it would involve a stupendously massive amount of work.
Governmental indecision would get in the way of commonsense. The costs would be prohibitive.
Its not floodwater if it doesn't flood my house-kinda thing.
Over development is the cause.

So...The Grand Coolie Dam is in the middle of Los Angeles?

Thanks for the kind words guys  Lots of reservoirs here, and I guess they're all full to overflowing at the moment! :D Heavy rain again today :(

Well Jack, I guess all that you can do is to keep that stiff upper lip you guys are known for, and has carried Britain through some very rough times. From the saxon invasion of the ninth century to the blitz, the English people remained unbowed. Keep the faith brother!

On the bright side, you don't have far to go to go boating!

Thanks a lot guys :) Much appreciated Carl, I'm thinking of buying timber for that boat you were talking about ;) :D

That Stiff Upper Lip isn't British at all. They are controlled by the Two Legged Parsers.

Winter's finally here in Central New York. We took a walk in the woods today. The sun was shining and the temp was about 25 degrees F or so. The lake surface was frozen but not enough to walk on it yet.

We came across a couple of Pileated Woodpeckers that were having a dispute. It definitely wasn't courting they were doing. I didn't want to see any dead woodpeckers so I broke it up.
