One fine looking young man there Paul. Kind of reminds me of myself after a meal.:D

Does anyone use WD-40 on your pivots I always have used 3 in 1 but I'm out. Just picked up an old Robeson Daddy Barlow this morning that needs attention.

hmm wanted to share my pocket watches but photobucket doesnt want to cooperate

I share your frustration.

Sometimes the magic works, sometimes it doesn't.

Certainly not at the moment. It's been getting worse for some time and the last couple of days might just be the push I needed to change to a different image hosting site. I hear good things about Google+Pictures and smugmug, does anyone have an opinion on the best of the bunch (I tried flickr a long time ago and fell out with it).

Welcome back Paul. Rory is growing into a big, strapping lad. Must really enjoy his breakfasts. ;)

Fantastic Paul, wee Rory is really growing up fast (as they do)! Looks like he's a Boy in Blue already! ;) Thanks for posting pics my friend

Great pictures, Paul. I love the one of him in the yard with the dogs. There's nothing better than a boy with a dog. ;)

Thanks guys, he's quite a handful at the minute. He's pushing his boundaries to see how far he can go with us, and when he gets told off his temper flares, he throws his arms and he loudly admonishes us in his wee nonesense language. It's hilarious and it's all I can do to keep a straight face and maintain the 'Daddy is serious' look. :D

I hate to say this, but this fight doesn't get any easier, and at some point he's going to become aware of it. I still have moments where I have to take a second to compose myself because what they're doing really needs correcting, but it's really funny. Keep fighting the good fight. :p

Paul those pics are pretty cute. The dogs are giving you the look like you interrupted their play time as well haha.

Hello friends! I got a text from Bob (BigBiscuit) this morning at 9:30. Bob is back in the hospital. I got Bob's permission to share this with all of his friends here on BladeForums.
He respectfully requested that any details behind this return to the hospital not be in this post and I am honoring Bob's request. Bob promised to keep us updated when he can.
I reminded Bob of the fact that he has a lot of friends on the Porch that have him in their thoughts and prayers. For right now the important thing is our continued encouragement
for Bob and his family through this forum. I know Bob will greatly appreciate that. I will post this is the BigBiscuit fund raising thread to insure everyone has a chance to see it in a timely manner.

Paul The lad's roaring ahead! Maybe it's porridge?:D:thumbup:

I'm fed up with Photobucket :barf:(I can think of a choice way of re-naming it, but......:D) It's turning into a wreck these past few days: hard to log-in, can't upload anything, you delete stuff and it still says you have the same capacity. I don't favour change for the sake of it, but I too am looking elswhere, but they must be free and pref not G.....le.

Regards, Will

Paul,
nice to see Rory :) soon enough he'll be asking for your peanut :p

Prayers and best wishes to Bob. Yes we are all with him.

As for image posting, I've had some luck with imgur.com :)

Great Pics Paul!
He looks like a Champion.
My youngest is starting high school this year- where did that time go? err into the past.
May I recommend a system called 1-2-3 Magic for keeping infant rapscallions in line whilst instilling a sense of mindfulness in them.
Consistency and teamwork(ie both parents ) are key.
But hey it worked for us.
Prior to hearing of that- when my eldest was a little fella I called it "my line in the sand, never cross it,from either side" .
Children are not small adults and yet so many times I see newish parents out there trying to explain the rules whilst the child is behaving horrendously. I feel for them because its like they are out of their depth.
Anyhow -food for thought.

Ha -further to that just this minute I heard the "discussion" about which movie to watch end with Janette saying "One !"

Oh yeah and I reckon get one of these for going on the loch come summer.

You can always do what I do.

"...but, but why?"
"Because I said so, that's why. That's all the reason you need."

;)

ummm... that "minute" is likely to last some number of years. Just sayin'.

Good looking lad, Paul. Thanks for posting those.

So you've met my youngest.
He defaults to disagreement.
He would argue the colour of an Orange.:D
Yet somehow they all make me very proud to be their dad.

When the eldest started high school going back about 10yrs ago. The Principal gave a talk.
He stated that boys are like trains running along a track that you have laid out.
At age 15 or yr9 of school that train will enter a tunnel.
During the time it is in the tunnel you will not be able to communicate with it and it will not be able to communicate with you.
Nor can you enter the tunnel after it.
You may hear the occasional grunt ,
You may think it has run off the rails
but have faith in your abilities as a parent.
One day it will emerge from the tunnel, happily steaming down the same track .
This might take as long as 10 years but more likely by age 18-19 your sons will be back as young men.

A simplistic analogy I know but I have seen it happen and I look at my eldest son now and see a happy and hardworking young man with a beautiful girlfriend living an independant life whilst learning a trade. OK hes in NZ but I can't have everything can I.:D

Half/Stop,
Thank You for letting us Know.
Bob and His Family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Very sorry to hear that Bob has had to go back into hospital, thanks for letting us know Ron. Stay strong and keep fighting, if you read this Bob, we're all with you in spirit my friend

Does anyone use WD-40 on your pivots I always have used 3 in 1 but I'm out. Just picked up an old Robeson Daddy Barlow this morning that needs attention.

I often use it when I'm cleaning up rusty old knives, but that's it

Certainly not at the moment. It's been getting worse for some time and the last couple of days might just be the push I needed to change to a different image hosting site. I hear good things about Google+Pictures and smugmug, does anyone have an opinion on the best of the bunch (I tried flickr a long time ago and fell out with it).

Yes, absolutely terrible. Spark recommends Imgur, but doesn't really suit me. I'm currently trying Google, upload times are certainly faster, but I dislike the increasing Googlization of my life!

Thanks guys, he's quite a handful at the minute. He's pushing his boundaries to see how far he can go with us, and when he gets told off his temper flares, he throws his arms and he loudly admonishes us in his wee nonesense language. A pal of mine has 3 kids, and when his eldest was the same age, it could be hilarious watching his increasingly frustrated exchanges with his son (fortunately a passing phase). I remember once, him exasperatedly telling the lad, "No, I'm the one who says 'no'!" :D

May I recommend a system called 1-2-3 Magic

I never fail to be amazed by this. I've never once heard a parent ever reach 3! with my 3 girls, I never had to even imply that anything bad would happen if 3 was reached, and rarely had to count past 1. It is like some sort of genetic foible! Total magic! :D

You can always do what I do.

"...but, but why?"
"Because I said so, that's why. That's all the reason you need."

;)

The 'why' phase can last a long time! :D The learning/question phase can last a long time too, certainly keeps you on your toes having to explain everything from how clouds are formed to the process of nutrition. I was with a friend some years ago, and his little lad suddenly asked, "Daddy, is there a limit to the universe?" I was astonished! Apparently it came from an X-men TV programme! :D

ummm... that "minute" is likely to last some number of years. Just sayin'.

I usually tell new parents that the first 25 years are the hardest! ;)

I look at my eldest son now and see a happy and hardworking young man with a beautiful girlfriend living an independant life whilst learning a trade.

:)

Hey guys/gals.. if you can believe it this is my first time reading this thread.. been here about a year lol. Man what have I been missing? Makes me realize I have just been splashing around in the shallow end of the pool this whole time. This place is a amazing. : )
Thoughts and prayers with you Bob!

Photobucket has progressively gotten worse. The app is almost unusable lately and the website is slow as molasses. No clue what is going on with them lately.

Judging by the way it looks on the screen of my current iPhone, that app hasn't been updated since the iPhone only came with a 3.5" screen.

Has anyone else had the thing happen where you try to upload a picture and Photobucket decides to upload the same picture anywhere between 10 and 25 times? Happened to me yesterday, but the worst was when I tried uploading maybe 10 pictures to post a listing on the exchange and ended up with literally hundreds of duplicate pictures on Photobucket.
