"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

I had to shovel last week, but it was only 3 inches. Of course, at 5:15 in the morning, it felt like more! I have to leave for work at 6:15, but traffic was a complete mess and I was almost late that day.

... I just lifted my own personal, tiny "neighborhood dog" into a trench created by a neighbor's snowblower to do some, let's see, "problem solving."

I boosted her back onto our porch and let her back inside, then cleared a small degree of access to the area underneath our porch (for future Problem Solving), dug out the hydrant as seen, and am probably done until the snow and wind stop-- meaning, the rest of the considerable snow will likely have to wait until tomorrow, when the sun's out. For morale.

I've got a mini schnauzer. His first experience with snow he ran outside to do his business, was standing belly deep in the white stuff. He just looked at me with an expression like "now what?" I grabbed a shovel and cleared him a spot to go to work. I was his hero that day.
 
Absolutely - I have never been in snow/degree of coldness - but from talking to some folks- its mighty mighty dangerous - please keep you vehicles in check and be prepared.

Ok.... a subject that I want to raise, I want anyone to reply with decency and respect that I am sure we at Traditionals can maintain.

Banning - or people being banned?

I notice KJ has been banned - from what I see he was an exemplary member ? Now mods before you sweep me from the face of the Earth - hopefully by now you should know me and understand why I am asking this - I am not here to cause trouble, and usually the first to have a crack at someone who does decide to come into our great part of the world and try to stir things up.

I am not asking to stir things up, I am obviously worried because ...

A, do we have a right to ask this? - there is a wee bit of fear factor for me to ask this as I am afraid to be taken the wrong way, and also dont want to believe that the Forums could ever be a "Hitler State " ( forgive the harshness of that comparison - I couldnt think of a term to use ) - that if and when this does happen - are we not allowed to ask?

B, worried that this will turn into a discussion of disorder- in that case I would totally expect the mods to come in and clean up. Can we keep this civilized and use manners and let us ask the people with the powers to be - hopefully explain to us - because we are a very close community - and we all do wonder why, what and how when things like this happen.

C, I hope this has come across to all in the way it is meant to be.

absolutely awful here in the nyc, i think a cop car stopped in the middle of the street. 12:30 all bus service stopped, 2:30pm no more cars except for emergency/leo vehicles, 4:00 no more subways. stay safe everyone!
