"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

All.this campfire cooking made me hungry so I called the local Cracker Barrel and ordered lunch. I had the campfire beef plate. I know that's cheating but it sure was good. :D

I like your style, Randy!:D

I suspect he was talking about a waist pack - here in the states they used to call them fanny packs, but "fanny" means a different body part south of the equator than it does here.

Bum bag means the same thing in the UK, I was just poking fun at his admissions of man purse-ness :D

Edit: ahem....not that us Scots would know anything about wearing wee bags instead of using pockets....

Today I have remembered the many veterans whom I knew that gave all in service, or from related issues stemming from their service. I have teared up a few times, and can appreciate all the more those who lost their best friend, husband, wife, daughter, son, brother, sister, and any other sort of person they care about.
Thank you, to all of our veterans past and present, to those who gave freedom to our country, to those who fought for the freedom of other countries, and for those who fought because the call of duty, rang.

Have a wonderful day all!

Connor

Its called a pouch not a man purse!:p
Anyway they don't make pockets or dead wombats big enough to keep all my scrap in.

(shirty voice) Well I hope you all feel better now that you know where I keep my Type 1 diabetes paraphenalia! Hmmmph! Just because I have 3 knives in there as well....errr... to prepare any food I might require.:D
Note the offending Aldi token.

I woke up this morning to this. The local Vets Post made rounds to houses of Vets after cemetery visits and placed flags on the properties.

If it makes you feel any better, I keep my epiPen and emergency meds in mine.

Thank you Frank.
I vote we all wear giant sporrans made of stuffed beavers-
I envisage entire knife collections being stored in there.:D

Hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day (and for those not in the states, an enjoyable Monday :)). I had to work earlier today (although I might as well have not been there), then came home and enjoyed a few beers and some bacon-wrapped hot dogs on the grill (because why not).

Commemoration sunday here too, of the battle of Verdun, 300 000 deads from feb til dec 16. When I was young, crippled and vets had special tiny shacks and sold tickets for a lotery. The last vet disappared last year.

That's a lovely gesture, but as a vet I'm not sure how I'd feel about it. "We're already tracking you for memorial day flagging..." LOL

That's what I said to my wife. Do they know something I don't? :D
It was actually accompanied by a small card thanking Vets for their service and that they are not forgotten.
