"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

Not in the "race", just in display, but you may be amused by this cops car of the 50s. :D

I could do with some help...:rolleyes:what am I doing wrong?

Was going to post this in Tech but I think an answer will be forthcoming here. It's about P-Bucket...Why can't I paste the IMG link to put pix on the forum anymore? I've enabled the function on my account but I can't copy the image link. Hence pictureless I know it's something simple but it's beyond me...

Thanks, Will

I use photobucket for all my photo posting and am having no issues.

Frank Thanks very much, will try. Managed something by secondary copying the link but it's a bit cumbersome.
Those fires did not look cool...

JP I had a photo of a whole street full of those R4s outside the Renault factory in the early 50s. Much preferred them to the VW Beetle but not as much as the 2cv or even better Ami 8:thumbup::thumbup::cool: Total Citroenist :D

Will, my first car was a 4cv like the cop's, simply it was in the 70's, the car was also two tone , but because it once had kissed a pole at a railway crossing in a curve (the roadholding was on par with the beetle's, needed a 50kg bag of potatoes in the front boot to stay on the road) and the only affordable wing was green (the car was ivory). Amazingly this attracted the cops regularly - I still wonder why :). It was a friend's car but as he had no license I was the driver.
The second car was the exact opposite, a xxxxth-hand 61 Panhard, aluminium body, 850cc air cooled flat twin, you could go any curve at full speed, would not move an inch. I'll try to find a picture, was a beautiful orange - the papers said "bush fire"! Those were the days!

Hi folks,
how have you been? finally I can relax a bit, and say hi to the best community I ever had the pleasure of being a part of.
Lately my time on BF has been close to zero, I've been busy with family things, alot of work, and some extra work as well :p I've been teaching in a course about teamwork and safety procedures in perioperative (surgical) care, and it's harder than I thought it would be...yet I'm glad I didn't turn down the opportunity when I had the chance.
Learning is never easy, but trying to educate others, transmitting some awareness of problems and strategies...well it's more difficult for sure. Yet, I'm glad I'm doing this, although it's taking quite alot of time from my hobbies, knives included.
Don't worry though, I do carry a knife and care about knives just like before ;) I've also been working underground for the Sardinian Connection and in the upcoming weeks two packages are expected to cross the Atlantic heading west to the US
Today I'm packing up and tomorrow I'll fly to Belgium for a short holiday trip (much needed and expected). Hopefully, I will be able to visit some coutellerie there, although to be honest I'm not after buying any new knife, just enjoying the ones I have...but you never know :p
Hope everyone here is fine. I will try to read all the posts and threads I've missed but it will take some time :) meanwhile, I just wanted to check in, say hi, and wish everyone the best. Although I haven't posted here lately, I never felt like moving one inch away from this community. We all know why.

Allow me to reference Garys recent visit at the Case factory where he scores a new knife AND brownie points from SWMBO- the man is a genius.

Check Bill Baileys take on French sirens- perhaps you could get one like this for yours Paul.

Been having some health issues that require surgery but have not been able to find a surgeon that was comfortable doing it. It is very complicated. Today I went to Charlotte and saw a surgeon that is not only comfortable with the procedure but is a specialist in it and has done many of the same type just as complicated. I have to do some prep work before they do the surgery so it' at least a couple of months off. Anyway glad to have found a Doctor because without the surgeries things looked a bit grim.

Glad you got the first step going, Randy. Smoke raised for a good preparation and a good outcome.
