"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

I'm glad everyone is OK, Frank. I can relate. I've been on the receiving end of a few of those.

O man, sorry to hear about that Frank, glad that everyone is ok with nothing more than bumps and bruises.

Glad to hear that nobody is seriously injured Frank  Hope your daughter is back on the road soon, and that you don't feel too rough today

:D

Going to be a bit till she hits the road again. Her car is DOA. The repairs would cost more than the car is worth. The right side now sits a tad lower than the left, and the doors don't close properly. Somewhat to be expected when a compact is hit by a midsized sedan.

Thanks for the sharing in my relief at the those first four words.

Glad to know any injuries aren't serious. Hope it stays that way. Cars can be replaced...but family members..like Paul said--scary stuff.

It definitely sounds like a write-off Frank, hope the insurance comes through fast and hassle-free  Hope your girl isn't too shaken-up

Good news Frank, and Randy all our best to you and yours. Make sure she rests, I practically have to tie my wife down for her to stop moving. Then she's tapping her foot. All will be well. Trust and have Faith.
Thanks, Neal

What have we here?
A kiwi cracking sheep jokes.
There's hope for the world yet.:D
I was 52 yesterday:yawn:
Bit down in the dumps actually-
but you have cheered me up .
Thank You:p:)

I doubt if the drunks insurance company will pay out because he was charged with DUI.
So kiss the no claims bonus goodbye.
I'll echo what the others have said -just glad your daughter is OK Frank. cars are easier to fix.
Randy -I've reserved a bit of whats left of my positivity to wish Anne a speedy recovery. All the best.

Happy Birthday Meako! Don't start any fires with all those candles! ;)

Thanks Frank.
Hey while I've got you here I'm just wondering errm .. well aiirr... err ... how come every other forum I've ever been on sends me a happy birthday email but not my beloved BF.?
Even ford forums and only went on there once to find out how to reset my door locks-sent me birthday wishes.Heck I don't even own that car anymore.

Thanks Frank.

Straight answer:
Beats me. You should ask in the Tech Support Forum.
Maybe when Spark switches to the new forum software he will activate that feature.

Tongue in cheek answer:
BF would never intrude into the privacy of its members by sending them an automated email with plastic unfeeling wishes. We know all of our members have deep friendships; and their friends will wish them a true heartfelt Happy Birthday.

Obviously, I missed my calling. I should be writing advertising copy instead of engineering specifications. ;)

Mate with diplomacy and sweet talking skills of that calibre you could probably go on the campaign trail for Nicolai Ceaucescu and get him a the job in the White House-and that wouldn't be easy. He's dead for a start:) and even when he was alive he was a despotic communist dictator.
I jest.
I did get a happy birthday from a forum so old that I had to go and see what is was about-Rotorburn-its mountain bikes I went on once about 5 years ago.
cheers.

You need to check your settings mate, have a look for the options for 'Birthday Greeting', 'Christmas Greeting', 'Valentine's Day Greeting' ;)

Meako, Sorry I missed the birthday boat. A belated Happy Birthday to you!
