"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

TLARbb TLARbb - I was just thinking about you a couple of days ago, Ed, and worried that you hadn't stopped by. Sorry for your troubles this past year, but it is sure nice to see you posting even if it's just to say hello.

There should be a very special place in hell for the inventor of both blister packs and zip ties. Or let me have him for a while.

I'd chain him to the wall of a tall very narrow water tank, and start the water flowing in at about a foot per minute. No escape. There is a keyhole in the wall in reach of him, and I'd toss him the key to shiut off the water and leave. BUT...the key is encased in heavy plastic blister packaging, and then zip tied to the cardboard inside the pack. He has no knife.

That is cosmic justice!:D

I'm happy to see that you still use it. I still have a couple of those knives, but not another just like that one. I picked up one off ebay a couple years ago that was given to a man by one of his children. I don't know the circumstances of how it wound up there, but I plan to keep it because it had some value to somebody's dad. I really like the checkered kraton rubber covers. They do wear more that most materials though, but a great grip. Take care Jeff and have a great Christmas!

Well, they did with the Pioneer. Here showing the amazingly handy mini Hawk/Pruner blade. You won't slip with these and the bubble caves in:D

On another note, wish GEC could make a completely sunk-joints knife like all SAKS are, make that all stainless blades&liners too..;)

I know it's not going to be the best one you've had Randy :( I've had some rotten ones too in the past. Wishing you all the best though my friend, and hope 2018 brings you happier times

I'm wearing my Sandy Mush T-shirt

Wishing all you wonderful guys a stunning Christmas with your loved ones.

The weather hangs heavy and grey here in London, but no doubt that will not daunt the spirit of tomorrow.....

........cheers..!!

Grapes rule:D They're nice raw, useful as raisins/currants and fantastic when turned into wine:)
