Carothers and Guns

It is interesting to see that price list though. Brought one of the Glock stories to mind I read years (and years) ago. I don’t recall the title 100%, but I think it was this one. Very engaging read if you’re into guns at all, not necessarily even a Glock fan. (And probably where my noggin stored some outdated Blue pricing Blues.)

Glock has always done me right when I needed anything from them...including replacing a Gen 2 G19 frame nearly 30 years later when it developed a crack at the mag well.

Their customer service, in my experience, has been exemplary. Their stuff is "good enough" for my purposes. But I'm strictly a combat shooter.

I don’t carry guns because they are pretty! My main daily carry g22 is ugly as sin with 1/3 the duracoat worn off, but after some work on making it fit my hand better I truly don’t know I have ever had a semi-auto handgun I trust more. It has never had a misfire/malfunction and it has been exposed to some grunge, wet, snow, etc. Coming out to the cabin today I only have a 629, 10-22T, 572BDL, k22, and my trusty Shockwave.

Nope, it's not us.
Gotcha. I didn't ask which group he was specifically training.

And, incidentally, after Craig chimed in on the thread I started, another fella jumped in later last night and said that the dealer was his go-to. He is a commercial pilot from the area, and a very squared away dude I've known on the site for years. So, buy with confidence.

What’s the rifle?
Rem pss in .223. Bought it around '99 I while still in high school. Liked that it had a faster twist (1:9 vs 1:12 like other production .223's I could find at the time) and has a parkerized barrel and action. Half moa gun with a wide range of bullet weights, had it down to .25 moa with a hand load my buddy and I came up with on his dad's equipment.

Plus it came with an hs precision stock which I preferred to other options out there. Aftermarket stock wasn't in the budget as a teen. 😁

The Baldr seems to work really well with the birdshead grip. I can reach the button with my thumb and flip it on and off really quickly. And lots of minishell this thing can carry too

Very nice set up. Did you put an adaptor for the mini shells? Mine would not cycle them reliably. I bought an adapter but decided to pass on the mini’s since it is mostly my truck/side by side and atv scattergun. I have a crimson trace laser on mine.

Back in the day when me and my dad's relationship was a bit different ...I would load up and head out to his house to shoot some of my stuff with him almost every weekend (he was in the army)

15 (maybe more) year old pic

Did you have the 590S? It's the only one that will cycle shorties reliably, at least that's my understanding.

I haven't shot it yet to be honest, will have to take it to the range one of these days. I got one of those little triangular rubber adapters but haven't looked around recently to see if anybody has come up with a new design
