Think I need I finally found the “right” Acro mount for this. Just needs to be rezero’d nowView attachment 2955095
I’m a fan of their mounts, but be sure to check for slop with the finger wheel tightening.

Someone made a tool specifically to use for tightening the wheel, because they found that they could still move the mount back and forth when it was just finger tightened.

*** it’s called the ClickNudge tool for Scalarworks. $20.

P.S. any particular reason for the Acro vs a T2 or CompM4/M5 etc.?

This is my first of theirs personally, just handled before and was never crazy about the thumb dial and have played with some that felt stuck. Prefer Bobro or ADM levers but the Scalarworks on this just looked much cleaner

They don’t come in grey 😉, and that’s basically it. Had a grey RMR on there then when Aimpoint released these in grey….I couldn’t resist

YMMV, but I won’t spend another dollar on Bobro.

Their so-called self-positioning QD can still have slop, but most importantly; had a couple of their QD scope mounts. Saw some claims that the studs had broken off in them. Checked mine. Sure enough, broken studs. Called them and told them about it.

They denied the warranty claim saying the studs probably broke due to being overtorqued despite me telling them that I used a CDI torque driver with current NIST calibration. Said I could send it in and they’d inspect and repair (replace the studs) but I’d have to pay for the shipping AND repair. Nope. Never again.

Nowadays, the only QD mounts I use (for scopes) are Spuhr.

I’ve heard that from the older Bobro mounts, have seen several used ones for sale with broken studs. All my scope mounts from them atm are the newer style without the studs and only issue I’ve had with them was a 35mm mount of there’s I ordered for a Leupold Mark 5 and it didn’t fit, ring spacing was too close, and they couldn’t take it back cause one of the sides was blemished even though that’s how I received it

Like their red dot mounts and the modularity of them, but also seems like they’ve abandoned their auto adjusting lever options greatly

It was how the company handled an issue (that they knew about, because I checked mine AFTER reading about it), that turned me off from ever spending another dollar with them.

They KNEW they had an issue (hence the redesign), and chose to piss on their customers.

Contrast that with the CS experience I had with Columbia clothing. Had one of their Interchange winter jackets (that has a removable zip-in liner. Worked great for ~12 years. Stuck it in the washing machine at the beginning of the Winter on a gentle cycle to clean it before reapplying the DWR. It ripped at the shoulder seam and the waterproof membrane shredded.

Oh well… ~12 years. Time for a new Winter jacket. Went looking on their website and noted they had a Lifetime warranty on their jackets for the original owner. Called up CS and they said “Send it in. If the warranty department determines that it’s a manufacturing defect/material failure vs damage, we’ll replace it for free”.

Called them when the UPS Tracking showed it had arrived. CS rep says, “OK, warranty dept approved the replacement. Oh… it looks like this jacket was discontinued quite a few years ago, so we don’t have an exact replacement. What size and color preference?”.

I told them, “XL, and Black or as close to black as possible”. CS rep looked at inventory, “OOS…OOS… no XL… Oh, here’s an XL… but it’s light brown, hmmm… Oh, OK, I found a Black in size XL. Hmmm… your old jacket was one of our mid-line that retailed for $259. This one is $5xx, but it’s the only Black XL we currently have in the warehouse, so I’m just going to approve it and have shipping send it out. Should arrive within the week”.

When she mentioned the model, and said she was going to approve the warranty replacement, I was jumping up and down inside. I’d already looked through the website and seen that model, when I was thinking of Buying a new jacket, before noticing their Lifetime Warranty. It was one of their top-of-the-line back then (about 10-12 years ago, now).

Still have this jacket that was sent as the warranty replacement. It’s incredibly light, packable and breathable. That was one of the things I noted when I’d seen it on the website. It touted the most breathable waterproof membrane at the time. I used the jacket when snow shoveling, because it breathes well enough to not get clammy from perspiration.

THAT’S a company that stands behind their products. Have similar good experiences with Vortex’s warranty.

After some cleaning, another hour at the range yesterday, for scope adjustment.

Switched to a 2x20mm scope on the Tanker - lighter, and wider field for both eyes open. Plus, I don't like zooms.

And no, I'm not using my Trinovids as bipod :) (just for the photo).
