Carothers and Guns

Saw this the other day and……was compelled to own it. Seen a lot of High Standards in my day but never one like this, super late production 1984, not sure if it was refinished back in the day, a special order or employee gun…..regardless it spoke to me

Look man, with all this red flag law stuff going on, you're not supposed to tell anyone guns speak to you. I listen to mine all the time....whispering, "Fire! Fire! Pull the trigger! FIRE!!!!! FIIIIIIIIIRRRRRREEEEE!".

Just don't say that stuff out loud. 😎

Cleeeeeeaaaaaaannnnnn! 🤩🤩🤩
Haha, I was actually thinking to myself yesterday just how dirty this rifle shoots when suppressed. Magazine comparison with the one on the left having been in the rifle for a couple shots and the one on the right not being shot yet.

Couple other pictures.

And no CPK, but the BAR shooting out to 300m and 400m yesterday.

Damn! .50 cal! You scaaaarrryyy!!! 😳
I remember seeing an old video years ago. Some guys turned a Barrett on its side and laid a metal GI 5.56 mag on the muzzle brake.

It blasted the mag waaaaayyy up in the air, disassembled it in one go (base plate disappeared, as did the spring), and the mag was turned into a Pringles potato chip.

There’s a LOT of energy coming out the side of the muzzle brake.

I was shooting a .50, and made the mistake of leaving a box of .50BMG FMJ on the bench. It was 18-24” from the brake and ~8” back from the muzzle. The box was standing. The back blast blew the box (WITH 10 rounds in it) off the bench.

Any recommendations for a torquing screwdriver for installing optics with a range from 8 -20 inch pounds that doesn't cost $ 200 plus ?

I'll pay it if I have just thought I;d ask first.. Thanks
I’ve seen reviews of people liking the Wheeler Fat wrench, but I opted for the CDI NIST certified 5-40 in/lb 401SM.

Figured it’s a “buy once, cry once” kinda thing.

The basic Fixit sticks kit has worked well enough for me. They're around $100.

This. They have a simple torque wrench, too, if you need.

I've got the wheeler fat wrench with the scope ring lapping kit. Works great.
Thanks guys ..gonna roll with the fix-it sticks for now
