Carothers and Guns

My first thought everytime I see a bullpup:

Those scales are just stunning!

How did S&W do on that Jerry Miculek race gun? I imagine the cylinders are chamfered... How's the action?

I've watched Jerry running an S&W 625 so fast it made mag-fed race-gunners blush in embarrassment!

Found my favorite DEK sheath in one of the boxes ! 🥰

That is such an exceptionally nice group of high end practical tools. If you know, you know. ;)

As I have settled into my active retirement years, I have rediscovered the simple nostalgic pleasures of carrying a revolver, SAK, and one great do-it-all fixed blade like the DEK1.

I am glad you found your favorite DEK sheath. It is very handsome and unique with the extra stitching. Chad’s multi carry sheaths have become very popular and I own a few. That said, my favorites of his are still his original signature design with the integral belt loop.

Thanks again for posting this group. It is my favorite of your carry rotation.

Any 2011 fans? Never owned one. Looking at getting one soon.

Looked at platypus, some staccatos, kimber 2k11, bul armory, sig p211.

Considering the sig p211. Anyone have hands-on experience with it?

Please don't bother with the "But.....But the p320! SCREEEEE!" comments. Tired of hearing about that.

I have not handled the P211. It seems to get pretty good reviews, but keep in mind that Sig sticks with the Series 80 firing system, and I've heard the triggers are nothing to write home about - kind of mushy. And, at least in my opinion, the trigger is a big part of the reason to choose a 1911/2011. Some people like the firing pin block for peace of mind, but personally I think it's much ado about nothing. I'd rather have a really good, crisp Series 70 trigger any day.

Yeah, that's definitely one of the drawbacks. I hear it's not too hard to lighten the trigger some due to the "leaf spring" mechanism, but I'm not very familiar with that... would have to research it.

That c4x is about $1k more than the kimber 2k11 or sig p211, so I'm not really looking at it. Isn't it also a 4 inch barrel?

Edit: not to ignore the ones you listed are also good. Just adding more things to look at in case you haven't seen them. I also believe there is so much competition and innovation nowadays that 2011 and double stack *11 availability will go up and prices will come down nicely over time.

I like Alpha Foxtrot for low price, GP Arms (Forza) if you're looking for a good customizable 3" & comes with MBX mags, and I like Fusion Firearms XP that come in various ported and comped options Tenifer QPQ finish and take glock mags. Also Sig P226/229 SAO are nice for me even though they aren't 19/2011

Here's the GP Forza (left) for example. Actually the 229 SAO is in there too on top..

And a FBFK for fun

Thanks for the suggestions. I actually already ruled out most of those for my purposes.

I'm pretty set on the p211.
