Redclay Redclay This may be a weird question but I have never carried AIWB. Do you have to go up on your jeans 1-2 sizes?

Nice setup!

I haven’t had to size up my pants but I loosen my carry belt up a bit to compensate. YMMV but it hasn’t been a huge hindrance. My usual IWB carry is a G26 and it’s more manageable than this 19 with X300 Surefire. Still not terrible but can be a bit uncomfortable if seated for a while but other than that it is my preferred carry with easier draws and better control. You just have to be very conscious of what you are doing with it pointing at a lot of “vitals” 😂

Beautiful piece
The case hardening on that 1911 looks absolutely amazing. Do you care to share some details on the pistol? The matching utility fighter is also perfection!

Thanks. It's a Dan Wesson 'Heirloom 2024' Commander. Case hardening on this run was done by Tyler Gun Works, and they did a fine job indeed, imo.

Veeeerrrry nice! Definitely unique seeing case hardening instead of a consistent blued finish.

I'm generally not into really ornate guns, but somehow the case hardening on the frame, with the partial slide scrolling, just called to me. I swapped out the checkered cocobolo grips for smooth ebony, nitre blue grip screws from Schauland Performance and a nitre blue recoil spring plug from Wicked Grips.

Otherwise, I don't feel a need to change a thing. The trigger is perfection on this one, the thumb safety was a little stiff and required some breaking in (which is how it should be, imo) and I love the brass bead front sight with the blacked-out serrated rear. 👍

Continued break-in of my Valor yesterday (FMJ round 201 - 300).

And rinse and repeat :) Next will be 100 rounds of Speer LE Gold Dot, then I'm done.
