Reality check. That guy dressed like an idiot could be one bad hombre with a rifle, pistols and shotgun. Cowboy action shooters do a lot of dress up and many can run those guns beyond your imagination. Looks stupid either way

I went to a competition with a friend to watch one of those..... some of those guys are bad asses ... scary how accurate they were from the hip

I remember seeing Bob Munden shoot, waaayyy back (70s? Early 80s?). That draw and shoot 2 balloons a few feet apart was mindblowingly fast.

I think there was a segment about him on "Stan Lee's Superhumans" or something like that. IIRC, they said he could draw and shoot on target quicker than a rattlesnake could strike. Pretty crazy!

Coast Guard shooters hitting outboard engines on drug smuggling fast-boats from choppers is very impressive to me. I have never shot past 500 yards and being an archery and handgun hunter prior to rifle- it seems like a very long way to me. You long range sharp shooters have some very special skills. Glad you are on the right side!

Our guys have done the same from fast boats disabling outboards...as well as from our Blackhawks...

I've crewed on both but have never done any such fancy shooting.

We had quite a collection of vessels and aircraft.

I've shot movers before and that's a whole other level of difficulty. To be honest, with good equipment, a bit of practice, and no time limit, I think 1.5 moa at 500 yards on a static target is pretty doable for most people. The main thing I was happy with that day was dealing with the time pressure and the other competitors.
