Carothers/Loriendesign Chopper WiP

moments away!!!

it didn't appear to last even one second! Bodes well for this project :)

That design, that steel, that heat treat, the folks involved,.....no doubt it will be popular. Mike

well, I'll have one here in a week or two and will try and get some more in depth info for ya'll

This is a heavy variation of the light chopper in .260" 3V. It weighs 23 ounces. I have no plans to make this a standard pattern because I feel it's too heavy to be practical, but sometimes a stout indestructible knife is fun so I went ahead and did a few of these while I was setup to prototype the light chopper.

~16 total length, ~10" blade, 23 oz, balances about an inch and a half into the blade. Sharpened 20 DPS. About .045" behind the edge. It is a big dumb knife, but it's fun.

I really like the design of this model, whether it's the light or the heavy piece. And knowing the quality of construction and design, it's gotta be really somethin' to wield.

I'm definitely up for some meticulously crafted big dumb fun - though dumb doesn't come to mind when discussing Nathan's knives:D. Mike

Whatever happened to the technique of dropping a piece of silk and cleanly slicing through it ?? Well I guess we can't have everything !

Is its just me or is design on this one just a tad different from the light version? Im not referring to thickness, more towards the front of the knife

I just picked this up from the mailbox;

Oooooaaaaaaahhhhhhhhlllllooooaaaaammmmmoooowwwwaaajhhhhhhhh
