Case Barlow is back

One quick note, the screws that hold the scales on mine loosened after the scales adjusted to the temperature & humidity here. Make to double check them before a loss!
Thanks for the heads up. With the wood stove going, and the humidity down in the house, that could be a concern here. If that happens I might apply a very small dab of blue Loktite.

Thanks - mine were mostly good, the center set on the tan needed just a slight turn to snug.

P.S. - just checked the Sod Buster Jr Crossroads I received a week or two ago - center and butt sets both needed tightening.

I checked mine a little while ago. None were loose, but I nudged them a little tighter, just to be sure.

Took a closer look at mine and my loose screws will not tighten either. :( I may just fix it myself

Update: see post further down.

The screws on each side do thread into the metal spring, don't they? If so, it looks like there can't be room for more than a thread or two for the screws to thread into on each side. That would make a screw that small very easy to strip. I'm not sure what the answer would be to this problem. Maybe a Chicago screw, where the "screw" on one side is threaded to receive the screw from the other side of the knife, but they'd be way too small. Maybe remove the screws & red Loctite the things back in, and forget about them. I dunno.

At approx. 15 seconds the vid shows that the screws thread into inserts, so either the screws are stripped or the inserts are spinning in the handle. Anybody try putting a screwdriver on each simultaneously?

That's how I checked mine - driver on each side. I didn't put a lot of pressure on them, as small as they are I could easily strip them.
