Case Bose 2017 knife

Just saw the Tribal Lock on a dealer site and the prices are as I had hoped. Depending on cover options, it is around the same price as the Case Copperlock and the Buck 110.

The zulu / tribal lockback will be a success i already want one.

The Tribal lockback got my hopes up. I've been looking for a nice lockback, but about 3 1/8" to 3 3/8" max, closed, for quite a while. Some good possibilities out there, but I held off just to make sure I get the perfect one. Along comes the Tribal. Saw the specs and my heart sunk.

Oh well. I may have to settle for something like a Moki. Poor me.

I know how you feel shecky but I ordered one anyway. Take a look at the GEC83, the right size and still show up. There was one on the exchange today.

I'll have to see where I can pre order one too, love the look of that Tribal lock

Here's a video of Mr Bose at the Shot show

Good to 'see' you Tony !

Thanks for posting that Gary. After watching the interview with Mr. Bose the value of his work has just gone up ten fold. What a gentleman. I've always admired his work but never considered owning one. I think that will change. I don't know when or how. I was always taught and took to heart that you judge a person by how he treats those around them. And, to hear Mr. Bose verbalize those exact words gives added weight to his person. For now I will just enjoy his "catalog" knives that Case sells.

Indeed, I was fortunate enough to travel to Champaign IL for work a few years back and took the time to see if Tony would let me take a side trip after work to visit and was able to do so. Also got to meet Kerry Hampton while there too, so it was a double pleasure. Very small shop with lots of neat things to see, it was certainly a highlight of my year! As personable guy you'd ever likely meet.

Gary, thank you for sharing that video. I always enjoy watching/listening to Tony talk about knives. I don't expect I'll ever own a knife made by Tony Bose, but maybe someday I'll spring for a Case/Bose collaboration.

If you can , i highly encourage you to buy one of his knives.( custom)

I started buying the case / bose collaboration, then knife patterns that tony shared with other talented custom makers.

Until one day i decided to buy one if his knives.

I really was blown away , hooked and instantly smitten by the quality of his knives, attention to detail etc.

We are blessed for having tony around, his story is inspiring . As a knife fancier i just feel lucky to have some of his knives.

Wish he would still take orders.

I would have order a couple of his patterns in stag, jigged bone , ivory, and micarta.

Tony is the man!!

Thanks for the endorsement. In today's world with everyone offering goods, both good and bad, it would be a pleasure to be able to give my business (even in the secondary market) to a man with such commendable values.

The Eureka is quite tempting as well, but, that's a lot more pennies to save up! But I'm betting it would be more than worth it! Now the wait and the decision...where to place my efforts/savings ;)

:D;)

Well in other interviews I've seen of TB he comes across as wryly amusing and in no way arrogant or pretentious. Very much respect that in a person, conceit & boasting are very tiresome qualities.

I wonder if he ever does any GAWs...?:D:D:D:cool:

My exact feelings. And, I'm sure he has but seeing as he we agree on sentence #1, he'd never brag about it.

It makes for a tough decision. The Bose/Case cattle knife I have is as well made as any knife I own, and better than a lot. I want a Eureka when they arrive, but I'm also struck by Bob's Norfolk. I see a couple norfolks for sale. I believe they are from 2009?

I would pay the price for either of those before I would pay what some on the great auction site want for certain GEC SFO's. It just makes more sense to me?

Tony is a real down to earth good hearted person. Recently I had a guy in a Case store pick through a few of those Wilfred lock hunter,I think it's from a Remington pattern. Well the fella did me right & I will say the knife will compare right alongside some custom knife makers work,it's just that good. Fantastic value for what you are getting.

I saw Tony at a show in 2015. The Wilfred hunter is based upon a classic Remington pattern that he had in his pocket at the show. He pulled it out and showed me. It was very old, but re-bladed by him and still in use by Tony.

Totally agree. As,I said in a previous., outstanding quality from Case. I think there was info from one bf member about exactly how different some of the procedures in manufacturing are.
